Is it amps*volts=watts? If so, then 700watts/12volts=58.3333 amps. The stock alternator is rated at 70 amps, iirc. Maybe you could retard the timing enough to stop detonation. Then your just running real lean. No biggie, right?? That's supposing it actually works....

Sounds like you need a cross member and/or mount from a manual car. The drive shaft should be fine. The diff. in our cars is bolted directly to the subframe, so it doesn't move up and down with the suspension like a truck, or mustang, or your old Nova.

That fan is for the a/c, as you found when you rewired it. If you're using the a/c, and that fan isn't working, it will make the car run hot. If it's overheating without the a/c on, you have other issues to fix.

The only electric fan set-up I know of that properly covers the radiator is the dual electric fans from the v-6 Ford Contour, and they have to be modified. They are mounted in a shroud that covers almost the entire radiator from side to side, and completely from top to bottom. They only leave...

Are the marks on the cam gears pointed up, and in line with the marks on the cover? You can't set the motor in time by just the crank mark.

dirtlord: In most cases, yes. Finnon: You need to do a coolant pressure test as well, to find any external leaks. Also, have the rad. tested to be sure it isn't plugged up.

NAPA now sells the exact same friction modifier as Ford. I'll try to remember to get the name of it tomorrow.
