Sigh. For the last time, no it won't. Please refrain from posting in the Tech Section if you don't know what you're talking about. It's one of the rules here.
Even though I'm intimately familiar with how the knock control system and its diagnostics work bickering was never my intention. I corrected your post for the benefit of other members. That includes those whose ego gets in the way of them learning.
I'm no eco-nazi but what about the moral issue of dumping poison into the air we all breathe? What about violating both federal and state law? Or are you yet another self-centered asshole who doesn't care about those things? Keerist. I'll never understand why those who are going to live in the...
Right. Other than the doors and body panels the Delorean was designed by Lotus and has an Esprit chassis. The tranny and parts of the engine are Renault.
It's obvious to me but I speak Nick. :icon_razz
Yeah, if you live in or travel wooded areas they can be insane. My first time was back in the day patrolling the hinterlands (bombing range) of an east coast military base. I thought I was prepared but not even close and driving an open jeep made the experience all the more interesting.
^ Wise words. The truth is out there.
Bad info is usually a case of things being passed down from an earlier generation or things that should've changed due to advancements in technology. Take motor oil for example. I long ago gave up trying to educate people about it. Old habits, wives...
I know of a car that came from the factory that way but almost nobody notices. It had to have larger wheels/tries in back because of the rear weight bias or it would easily swap ends. Seems pointless on a MKIII though.
Looks like it's already happened. Now if we can get a mod to delete that and the other posts he's made... - Mess cleaned up. -SC
Since I'm here I'll say, as far as I know, not much has changed since 2006. Techron and Redline SI-1 are still the most commonly available sources of PEA and are what...
He's wrong. Proves yet again "professional" mechanics often have NFI what they're talking about or worse, possess poor critical thinking skills and little common sense. Warming while parked is bad for the reasons already mentioned. It does nothing to prepare the rest of the drive train and...
He shouldn't and neither should you. It should be warmed (by driving gently) before beating on it however.
As for the OP his time is coming and it'll take more than a new thermostat to fix it...
Ah, I see. So when you opened the valve it sucked in ambient air. I'm curious though, how do you account for not seeing missing parts and plugged/open ports after studying how the system works? Got some kind of eye trouble? :icon_razz
TSRM aside, opening the valve while observing the effect is EGR testing 101. It's what smog techs do as a functional check. How could it have done that if EGR flow was blocked? Doesn't make sense. Ah well, such is the problem of trying to help people fix cars through this little cable...
