    92nsx's supra build

It does always suck when a previous repair makes working on a vehicle harder. However...if you weren't a "cheap ass supra owners with no money" then maybe you would have a grinder with "scotch brite" pads or a wire wheel and it would have taken you a couple minutes to clean up that silicone...

    Anyone into C++ progamming?

I've done a bit of C++ programming. What do you need?

    Crashed my R1 today

Only harder to fix damage on the bike is this. It is where the stator cover bolts to.

    Crashed my R1 today

I always ride using my right index and middle fingers for the front brake lever and the other fingers on my right hand for the throttle whenever I am using the brakes. That allows me to blip the throttle under braking for smooth downshifting. I guess the bike surprised me and for what ever...

    Crashed my R1 today

Yeah, I bet. What bike would you do that on? Do you own one? I only ask because it sounds like you do not own one.

    Crashed my R1 today

The bike isn't too much for me. Like I said I am a decent rider. I have put about 6k miles on this bike. I am completely used to it. I do wheelies and corner hard on it with confidence frequently. This was simply one time I was not prepared for what happened and paniced. Like I said, I...

    Crashed my R1 today

It is so wierd. I know exactly what to do in every other situation by instinct... This is my third season riding, second with this bike. I am a decent rider. It is just so stupid I that I froze and did not pull the clutch in. Like they say though, a lesson lived is a lesson learned.

    Crashed my R1 today

I crashed my 2001 R1 today. I'm still not really sure every detail about what went wrong. I was shifting into second a few hundred feet from a stop sign doing maybe 25mph. I think the transmission stayed in 1st and the bike gave me a real surprise when I let the clutch back out. The front end...

    SySt's Build up

Actually, I had and 04 Mustang and definitly had complaints about the rear suspension. The solid axle was just horrible in the corners and I really hated how much flex the rear control arm bushings allowed, made the solid axle even worse. I think a panhard bar and poly bushings would have made...

    SySt's Build up

I like your suspension analogy, so true. I have not really driven my Supra since installing the O2 sensors but I expect it to fix my fuel economy issue as bad O2 sensors on LS1s are known for making fuel economy drop dramatically. Oddly enough my PCM was not throwing any O2 sensor codes...

    SySt's Build up

I finally got my O2 sensors installed and started making the box that will cover the hole in the trunk. I'll post pictures of the trunk when the box is done. However, my engine runs tons better with the O2 sensors, obviously. It will be interesting to see how it drives and how much quieter it...

Poly bushings in street car driven regularly?

I put maybe 5k miles on my poly bushings. I installed grease fittings when I installed the bushings. I did not keep up with lubing the fittings at all and after maybe 5 months of driving the front lower control arm bushing sleeves seized to the poly andthe sleeves were then rotating inside the...

    Front lower ball joint ?

It shouldn't really take you any longer with jack stands than with a hoist. It's obviously just more of a pain in the ass working on the ground. For what its worth, I could probably replace both front lower ball joints in 30-45 minutes with air tools. So if you have air tools, use them...

    Front lower ball joint ?

The upper ball joints are not replaceable individually unless things have changed in the past couple years... You have to replace the entire upper control arm to replace the upper ball joints. The upper ball joints could be worn out, however it is far more likely that just the lower is worn as...

    Lower control arm bushing help

That problem is VERY common on these cars. If you search you can probably find some decently in-depth threads on the matter. Basically, the inner sleeve of the bushings seizes to the bolt. Many people would say it is basically impossible to remove the arm without cutting the bolt and...

    Clutch Question

Don't remove the entire engine. You could EASILY have the transmission down with a jack and some basic hand tools. Probably take you and hour to remove and reinstall the transmission if you are mechanicaly inclined.

    Clutch Question

Thats a good point. I wonder if he could have broken the hub off of the clutch disc by installing the transmission without making sure the splines on the input shaft and the disc lined up. I agree, at this point take the transmission back down, its not that big of a job.

    Clutch Question

I can not see how the input shaft would not spin with the engine if the splines are inserted into the clutch disc splines. There is also no way the transmission would fully bolt onto the engine if the input shaft did not slide into the clutch disc splines... So unless you do not have the...

    Clutch Question

Do you mean your output shaft is not rotating with the engine? The output shaft really shouldn't rotate with the engine if the transmission is in neutral. Obviously when you put the transmission in gear the output shaft should rotate with the engine. It really seems there are only two...
