Well, I am starting to collect parts to install on the Supra over the winter, to make it more streetable/driveable. The shift knob I bought it attached to this post. It's just a nice plain knob made of delrin so it won't scald my hand in the summer compared to an aluminum knob. I just could...
What the guys said above is true. However, you also increase your chances of detonation by increaseing your quench distance (Piston to head distance), a thicker head gasket will do that. I'm sure most anyone here would say go with the thick gasket and don't worry about quench distance.
That...
I had this problem once. I must have re-aligned everything 15 times before I got it right. Just make sure the #1 cylinder it TDC and that the cams are timed to the engine properly. Then try re-aligning the CPS. It is very easy to move the CPS over one tooth accidentally as you put it back in.
I have some new current pics of my car. I got a new hood and front bumper off a local member here. Funny thing is I sold the hood and bumper to him about 4 years ago. They are both of my first Supra. The guy I bought them from modified the hood with 280Z vents. He beleives they aid in...
You don't really need one at all... If you still insist on having one and want it to be more than some useless lights you better get a wideband guage. However, you will also need a wideband sensor as hooking up the wideband guage to the stock sensor would be useless.
My speedometer doesn't work. You can just calculate your speed at certain RPMs in each gear... Obviously I want a working speedometer. It would cost upwards of $300.00 to make the stock guage work. I was thinking of trying a speedometer out of a mid-90s Corrolla as they look like they will...
I just had a thought. What if I covered the holes with 18Ga sheet metal like I was planning. However instead of using weather strip to seal the cell to the cell mounting frame, I built a box around just the cell about 3" high using 18Ga sheet metal as well? Of course the top of the box would...
Alright, 18Ga it is. I can always change it if something bothers me. As for the firewal, I am not doing anything at this time. Not like my car fits into a racing class that it can be competitive in anyhow. I do later plan on cutting out a lot of the unibody structure and "converting" to...
