its an afm, but on that note have you cleaned it by any chance, if NO, then good dont. Whats it do if its unplugged? IIRC it should go into "limp" mode, no revs past 3k rpm. Someone may have to correct me on that though.
"Put 12 volts to the iscv and didnt see the valve move up or down...
Yup.
Check your codes. - http://cygnusx1.net/supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=FI&P=23
Check your wiring, IIRC there is only a 4 wire plug going to the "small" harness that goes to the coil packs right?
I would test, or get a new thermostat too.
EDIT: You want a thermostat.
Agreed ::dead horse::
A stock 86.5 can spin a bearing or such. Just like a 750hp monster will eventually breakdown, its all about time and tune. The variables are almost infinite.
I think I got it. The BVSV is on the thermostat neck, and opens above 54c. Then and only when the throttle plate is above the purge port(vac line on throttle body) it will "suck fumes" from the CC which has a check valve that wont let any tank fumes pass until 2psi is reached in the tank from...
I am no expert on muscle cars either, but small blocks(gm) are a type of motor, 267, 305, 350's, 400 and theres more, and big blocks are a different type
all together 454's, 502s ect.
but its not just the "displacement" that makes them big/small

How does the stock system work, most importantly where is this 2psi had from?
I have no intention of removing mine my stock setup, but I think if you are to modify something you should first know how its supposed to work.
She looks good man...
but I gotta ask why not go GTE? I went GE-T because I had a rebuilt engine in my car, and I figured when I blow it up I'll swap all my parts to a rebuilt GTE block, or lower comp. pistons.
Looks pretty slick, so are those just custom wires and your coil packs are...
