If you're asking "Will it hurt my performance?" then the answer is no. It's overkill, but it will not hurt the performance. If you do like it talk to Randy and see if he can make you a 3" version, that's what I had on my car and I loved it.
Well, last time I'm going in to the dealer who sold me the car to "evaluate" the engine burning oil is beginning of April. He was trying some miracle engine recondition/rebuild in a bottle, but neither of us were holding our breath on it (was a new product that he had heard of that he figured...
Either that or have you checked if your rad is actually cooling properly? I replaced my stock radiator that looked like it could have been the original radiator with another stock replacement, and my coolant temps dropped almost 20*F. The old one had so much crap in it from past BHG's and who...
Yeah, always something to check if can't find anything obvious on the outside. Should be able to narrow down the area with a stethescope fairly easily so you know which shims to check right away (though if you have the covers off, may as well check them all).
Just out of curiosity....have you checked to see how the tension is on the timing belt? I've seen the timing belt slapping the casing from being too loose at around those rpm's.
Checked everything over for loose nuts and bolts?
Yeah, sopme people find it hard to actually read through 6 pages and don't bother to look and see if the problem's been addressed somewhere in the middle of the thread....lol
If it were my own engine I'd be looking at everything at the very least. Measuring and making sure everything is well...
Yeah, the stock cams have flat spots there that you could hold with a wrench. As for cam removal, here's the TSRM link :)

The car was running pig rich, so I'm sure it could have been tuned out with an SAFC or equivelant, but I just didn't get that far unfortunately. Too many other more important things had to be fixed before I could even think of "go faster" parts and sold it before I got to that point.
I agree, those numbers are messed. I was doing right around 300rwhp @11psi on a CT26 57-trim and the only thing other than a good exhaust (downpipe cat delete 3" custom straight back) was 2.5" intercooler hardpipes. When it was switched to the divorced downpipe it added just enough that the...

You still want it divorced, you just want it recirculated, not dumping to atmosphere. If you went divorced you'd want one exactly like how toyotanos linked in the picture (only hopefully fitting better). The BIC ones are good for fitment, I have no idea on others though as that's all I've...
Divorced downpipe has a seprate pipe that is for the wastegate so when the wastegate opens, the turbulence from it doesn't create pressure direcly behind the turbo. You can have it either dump just below the vehicle or recirculate it back in to the main exhaust at the bottom of the pipe. I had...

This. Getting rid of that stock turbo elbow is probably the most important step in getting a good exhaust on the car. 3" is plenty for the rest of the pipe unless you're aiming for a very high horsepower build.
I would guess that it would protect the cam seals as well a bit. The belt does let off a bunch of dust as it turns/wears, and I can't see that being a good thing to have direct access to the cam seals.
