My car was hitting fuel cut when you put load on it above 3.5krpm with a full 3" turbo back w/ divorced downpipe. I swapped exhausts with a buddy that had a bone stock '90 turbo to get through emissions and he experienced the exact same thing. Having a free flowing exhaust and being so close...
Yeah, I'd check for boost leaks first. Make sure the recirc hose is all hooked up and not leaking off the BOV as well, it's very typical for it to go rich and stall when doing exactly what you described when that's leaking. Take a quick search for DIY boost leak tester and you'll find how to...
If you've got a laser thermometer you can check and see what the upper rad hose is, it's typically within 5*F of the coolant temp. Otherwise I'd hook up an aftermarket temp gauge and find out exactly what temps it's running. I know that the stock gauge will read in the middle as high as 225*F...
This is of course if you've gone racing and have spent enough on most everything else possible to make you go faster. We all know faster on the track is much more fun than faster in/out of the pits :naughty:
As others have already pointed out it's too dark and not glossy. Personally I like them stock, maybe with a very slight tint to it, but not as dark as you've gone.
I used the Fel-pro kit as well and it worked great minus one thing. When you replace all the gaskets make sure you get a Toyota OEM EGR Cooler gasket. I haven't found one in a kit that is made from the proper material and it will burn up on you in about 3000 miles if you don't use the right...
My buddy's mom was driving a '92 turbo, red w/ grey leather and sunroof. I personally haven't seen another like it...it's in amazing condition. She traded it in for an '06 G35x because she couldn't fit the grandkids child seats in the back of the Supra. So now it's on their dealership's lot...
If you're trying to get it running I definitely wouldn't be worrying about deleting vacuum lines, I'd be worrying about getting it running. As bioskyline already pointed out, they're all there for a purpose. Yes, it can look like a bit of a spaghetti mess at first especially if they're not...
I don't know for sure whether or not the USDM & JDM intercoolers are the same, but here's a quick intercooler comparison for stock intercoolers:

Both the Toyota 1J application intercoolers listed are very good for a factory intercooler. A lot of...
