    91 7MGTE a/t swapped into 87 7MGE m/t build plans THE BRUISER!!!!

You're going to be right on the limit of fuel cut at that power goal. You may or may not be able to make it without looking at doing injectors/lexus AFM (or equiv)/pump/regulator. You might be able to get around it with some leaning out using a fuel computer (Apexi SAFC or equiv), but like I...

    What a dead hole!

One of the reasons I'm going to have this as my daily driver rather than the Supra. Something reliable that I don't feel inclined to gouge my eyes out just to make driving a little more interesting. Not nearly as fast in a straight line, but still lots of fun in the corners. Picking up the...

    What a dead hole!

I agree to all 3 statements :icon_razz. Will make for a good DD though and you can still have some fun with it. The car handles incredibly well and hugs the road nicely. Test drive went well and just waiting on financing from the bank at this point.

    What a dead hole!

Either way, if you guys do have a meet, would you accept me if I showed up in a 7th Gen Celica GT TRD? Test driving one today as a possible new car :). I know it's no Supra, but it should still have more pep than a Civic Si (what a lot of people have been pushing me to try and get :icon_mad:).

    supra vibrating past 60mph

If that all lines up, check and see if there's play in the carrier bearing. If that also checks out, see if you've got a wheel out of balance. I've seen a lot of people complain about vibrations and it's just because they've either flat spotted their tire or a wheel weight fell off.

    Supercharger on a 7M

Superchargers are a parasitic draw on the engine when engaged, so if you're not going to be pushing the car, it's better to have it off. It takes horsepower to turn the supercharger, but in turn the supercharger will give you boost to make up that horsepower plus some. For efficiency sake...

    Car insurance for my MKIII.

The biggest drop in insurance price is somewhere right around 25. That's why most rental car places won't let people rent under 25 withtout at least extra charges, sometimes not at all!

Electric fans, just one more thread... Lol

If they're set up properly it doesn't matter, they should only be turning on once the coolant temp is up to a certain temperature in the first place and then turning off once it reaches a second set threshold. The flex-a-lite kit made for our cars does 2500cfm per fan, so if I were judging by...

    Head Gasket kits

Regardless of whatever gasket kit you end up getting, get the Toyota EGR cooler gasket and the Toyota throttle body gasket. I haven't seen an EGR cooler gasket from an aftermarket kit that isn't made of cardboard when you need to have a metal/graphite type gasket or it will burn up, and for...

    Metal Head Gasket Q

The quick answer on the head gasket thickness is this: Amount of material taken off head + Amount of material taken off the block + 1.3mm (stock compressed head gasket) = New metal head gasket This is purely if you want to stay within stock compression ratio specs. There are people who opt to...

They are the same except for ONE cam, just the intake cam is different. Castings are the same though.

    retiming the engine

It tells you crank is supposed to be at 0 and cams are supposed to be at the matchmarks with the pin in the center hole on the gear. Why would it need to tell you what valves are open? Unless of course you've somehow managed to screw up how the cam is put in to the head or your cam developped...

    retiming the engine

The engine is non interference. Put the head on the block, get it bolted down, and set things up as per the TSRM. There's no secret step we aren't telling you.

    7 mgte tapping noise

If it sounds like a loud sewing machine, it's usually valve tap. If it sounds like someone's tapping the side of the block with a ball peen hammer, it's usually rod knock. You should be able to tell pretty definitively if it's top end or bottom end by having the scope on the valve cover vs...

    Leaking coolant

It bolts on to the head. The piece that the upper rad hose fits on to. Don't just look for it there, feel for it and see if it's wet.

    Leaking coolant

There is a coolant hose that runs underneath the power steering resevoir, you could check there. Also, check the bottom of your thermostat housing. I've seen that leaking on a number of cars where you can't necessarily see it at first glance, but take a feel and it's wet.

    Ongoing decel to idle stalls

Vac isn't too bad, normal is between -18 and -20 at idle depending on elevation etc. Blow off valves can leak, you should notice it if you pressurize your intake piping. Here's a link for a DIY boost leak tester: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?19718-DIY-Boost-Leak-Tester...
