ive seen them fail numerous times...it isnt just the stock torque levels...its also the closeness of the cylinder walls and odd water jacket placement...
bottom line is why waste your time with a stock hg that costs prob as much if not more from toyota when you can get a hks or even better...
i agree...its kinda wierd how everything worked out... i mean yeah we lost a CRAPLOAD of info with the hacking...but i HONESTLY think it was for the better... and the timing of having this being back up and SF going down..has been near perfect...
IMO this is the best thing that could have...
thanks...
yeah i forgot to mention my stuff was originally all burgandy as well..i just HATE burgandy...otherwise what paradox did is pretty nice as well...
as i dont know numbers...i do know that it doesnt get insanely hot...ive changed my speedo cable out right after i drove the car for 30 minutes...and although i bruned myself on the exhaust a few times hehe....the tranny itself didnt burn me once...
so you should be fine however you should...
haha im in tampa fl :D a little far away.. but yeah its true 9 times outta 10 a mk3 owner will help a fellow mk3 owner for nothing but maybe some food and drinks :D
i know myself do a lot of mk3 and general car work pro bono just because...however if its a tough job or something that...
and engine can be pulled, oil pan resealed, and engine put back in...in one day...IF you know what youre doing ;) so bribe some local supra owners with food and drinks and you should be set :D
:umno:
even the "re-designed" hg sucks...and anyone doing all that work will most likely be using a hks or cometic hg anyways so the hg that comes in the kit is for nothign anyways.
ebay is the best place...ive built about 5 engines using ebay gasket sets and they cost about 120 bucks...
i have been playing around with interior stuff for about a month now...
basically ive found this out:
the krylon fusion for plastics is AWESOME...no prep other then a quick wipe down and then paint away...i would use a good solid 5 coats on each piece. obviously light coats as heavy ones...
yes you can use the egt and af gauge to tune a car.....
BUT
the wideband is A LOT more accurate for obvious reasons and can give you a more precise tuning...
so untrue...an EGT can easily stop you from ruining your car if you keep an eye on it while racing...i can think of a few times when it stopped me from seriously hurting my engine because i noticed it was heating up too fast or too much so i let off before it got to the temps of damaging...
most people with the ebcs shim the WG so it holds the boost until redline...this really only helps with the ct's ...anything aftermarket wont have a problem.... :biggrinki :aigo: :weak:
sorry just playing with the new smilies :D
in all reality it doesnt matter if you arte only gettnig a reading from one runner....its really just a tool to stop if you are running lean and getting hot... if yuo want an ALL reference point you should put it in the major collector right before the turbo...anything after the turbo is...
