Personally, it seems to me kind of a waste to use the MAF-T Pro with the AFM, and not go to a MAP based solution.
Using one of these, or a standalone, the idea is supposed to be that you are tuning for your specific car, and not a range of manufacturing tolerances for a large number of...
Pulled my dash apart. Rezeroed the speedo (it was about 5 km/h high to start) and adjusted it's gain (It read about 10 km/h too high at 100 km/h)
Installed LED lighting, had to swap polarity for a couple.
Installed LED voltmeter in the space above the battery idiot light. It's a bit bright...
I've been thinking about this, but I'm actually happy with the intercoolers that I own. One is a DM sourced Spearco replica. The one on the 1990 that I just picked up is a real Spearco. Can't justify replacing either one, even if I like the CX racing piping.
Where in there does it state auto or manual transmission? With a manual, the turbo isn't as much of an advantage in the 1320, though it should still be faster.
The turbo gets taller rear end gears, even taller after 1989, which won't help quarter mile times. They also might have taken something...
So... You don't know if the engine was driven with a BHG or not.
When you did the MHG, did you get the block decked? If you did, did you just re-install the same bearings?
If you installed new bearings, probably a good idea to change oil fairly quickly after installation, but that's to clear...
This X2.
It's amazing how much crap can collect in there, particularly during/following storage. I've found things that I never would have believed in that space. <shudder> So worth checking out.
Also, for the price of a thermostat... Replace it. Or, cheap way to check it, put it in a pot of...
I do not believe that the 7M ECU is needed for the oil pressure and water temperature gauges. There is a separate water temp sender for the ECU. The oil pressure sender also connects to the ECU, but also connects directly to the gauge...
I've heard of the ATI, but not the fluidampner. Where would I buy one of those?
My 7M-GTE is still on the engine stand, with no crank pulley. I've been waiting to see what I can do for replacing it. The ATI is a little spendy, but currently that's the goal.
There is an exception tot he yellow plug harness. An '89 grey plug engine harness and ECU will connect to a pre '89 chassis and vise versa.
I have an '87 engine, ECU and yellow plug harness living perfectly happily in my grey-plug '89. There were 2 issues with this, both easily solved. One is...
Well, I like the idea that the fans can't come on and take fingers off unexpectedly... They usually put warnings on cars with efans that the fans may come on "Any time ignition is on." Still, I'd wire constant power directly from the battery, and run ignition power to the relay. With a low draw...
If you've looked at what's out there, and it does not suit your needs, then you'll probably have to get someone to do what you specifically want.
If it were me, I'd check the usual suspects for Mk3 performance aftermarket. I think that all of the major vendors are pretty good about getting...
Personally, I'd say though that if you want to know if they're any good, get them tested.
Even if they were perfectly good when upgraded, if you can't exactly trace their origins anymore, who knows what condition they're in now? Even good, name brand injectors that have been sitting for any...
Translation for the comprehension challenged:
A member of this forum upgrades stock fuel injectors to increase their capacity. I'll have to take the OP's word on this, as I've never heard of it myself.
OP has a set of 7M-GE injectors, which he believes were upgraded by this member of the...
Naw. Buy the Lexus AFM. take the sensor off of it. Install the sensor on your stock housing. Sell the Lexus housing in the classifieds section for a decent portion of what you paid for it. This gets you what you need for relatively cheap and gets the lexus housing on to someone who wants/needs...
Had the targa off for the first time today. I always figured that "limp noodle" was exaggerating a bit. I no longer think so, and I'll definitely be in for a set of these, since even in sub-zero temperatures, I really liked having the roof off. I didn't like the feeling of the car twisting every...
Before you replace anything, triple-check that you don't just have the hatch locked. On my '89 you could turn the key the other way, and then you couldn't use the cable pull. I think that it was supposed to be some sort of security with the valet key, because the valet key doesn't work in the...
I always remove the elbow after the turbo is out of the car. The three bolts to the downpipe are a lot easier to get to than the bottom elbow bolt is in the engine bay.
That eBay knock-off makes me nervous where it doesn't specify a thread for the hole "Shift knob hole about 1.5cm, no need use any tools (ex: screws), just insert it."
If that's how it is, then I want no part of it.
And cold and snowy means a greater temperature drop. It would be different if it were even 15 degrees warmer outside, but in this weather, I would expect that a good intercooler would mean a larger temperature drop and a corresponding pressure drop. I would bet that the issue would be less once...
