Just replace rod bearings and go ?

Nothing wrong with the Clevite 77 bearings at Driftmotion.

    DIY for AFPR fitment

Yes, mine too, but it's not absolutely needed if you want to DIY the install without buying all of the parts. If you're doing that, you just need the adapter for the fuel rail so that you can install a line to the AFPR body. I also have an AFPR somewhere that I never used, because it was...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

With the heat shield in place it ought to be fine. Also, harder to see from that photo angle, but the BOV is forward of the CHRA, which isn't as much heat as over the CHRA or, god forbid, the hotside turbine. If the valve melts, it doesn't open, so you are running with no BOV at that point...

    DIY for AFPR fitment

Just buy the kit from Driftmotion. Comes with everything that you need, and good instructions. The stock FPR is at the front of the fuel rail, feeds to the "J" tube on the side of the block, then returns to the tank. You need to remove the stock FPR, run a fuel line to the aftermarket AFPR...

    7m-gte Swap

That's a MLS gasket, so yes. You need to have both block and head machined. If the engine has had a BHG and it wasn't taken care of immediately, you'll want to have the block torn down and replace bearings anyway. For power, I had a stock Toyota head gasket and ARP studs in my 7M, since I...

    Paint Job Color Suggestions anyone?

With the burgundy interior, I'd stick to a shade of red. White/grey/black works too, but it's either got to be a "warm" shade, or the interior won't look good at all. I do love the RSP colour. It's in the list of colours that I'm considering for my car, but I've got the grey interior, which...

Got hit, recommendations? Will my car get totaled? KBB doesn't go beyond 1993(pics)

@Grandavi: GOT_BOOST's red car was a '91. Get the estimate, but let the adjuster know that you're willing to look for parts. There are enough of these being parted out that you should be able to fix it. If it's mechanically sound, and you never plan on selling it, it may be worth your time to...

Cheaper Alternative to Engine mounts 89+

Very true. In the past though, the "Parts price" was moot. Back in the early 90s, I used to compare with a lot of my friends, and found that in terms of overall budget, even when I was paying many times more for comparable parts we were spending about the same amount of money on parts in total...

ma-70 carbon fiber twill weave & plain weave parts.

Thanks for the kudos. :D Back on topic, really there aren't many pieces that I'd really want CF for, and some of the ones that I do want, I'd only want for the right price. I'd be perfectly happy with FRP for many parts, as there are many that I'd end up just painting anyway.

ma-70 carbon fiber twill weave & plain weave parts.

I think that you mean 79. Actually, the "A" chassis designation did not start with the Supra, as Celicas before there was any such thing had that chassis designation. I believe that other cars did as well, including the 2000GT. I would say that if you want to get technical, it was 1986 when...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

For what it's worth, yellow light DOES project farther in fog. Blue light refracts and reflects back at you (Like, why the sky is blue, right?) so you see a nice wall of fog in front of the car instead of seeing anything on the other side of the fog. It really makes me shake my head when people...

N/A non-lsd to LSD differential swap?

It wasn't an option at all in Canada. They all had it.

I hate my shift knob...... Help Please :)

Yeah, my TRD stickers on the knob shift around in the warm. Doesn't have to be that warm, either. Still is a nice piece. I'd probably be fine with a stock one though. I have one that I re-did the leather on, but I can't find it now.

N/A non-lsd to LSD differential swap?

The NA Supras did come with LSDs. It was an option in the USA, but standard in Canada. This is you best bet if you can find one, since it will be the correct 4.300:1 ratio. I swapped in a 3.909:1 from an '87T into my '89NA. It bolts right in, bolts up to the axles, no hassle making it fit. Just...

I hate my shift knob...... Help Please :)

I'm going to have to buy another one of those. My new 1990 came with a universal shift knob, and I hate it, too. (For the time being, I've robbed the TRD knob from my '89, which is parked.)

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Yeah. Stock rims, 225/50R16 tires on. Actually, I went over my GPS logs, and it said I was at 114 around that bend. No, I didn't see the vehicle mounted laser. I question its calibration, but given the road conditions, and the fact that those "all season" tires really aren't, it probably really...

On Hwy 216 at 120 in a 100 zone. Speedo never had me over 110.

How much have you spent on your MkIII

Last I heard, yes, it is. I believe that the odometer reads 92, or at least it did.

    Is fuel cut dangerous?

This. In Calgary, you're at almost 4000 ft altitude. On a stock CT26, 12 PSI is probably possible without FCO. Go down to Vancouver, and watch FCO happen at 10 without fail.
