    Cant figure out clutch problem

I thought the same, but that doesn't explain why it will release just by revving the engine or yanking it out of gear. I also had a friend watch the slave while it happens and there is no movement there at all. Master is a new Aisin less than 2 years old.

    Cant figure out clutch problem

I am running a W58 behind my 7mgte and recently replaced the spec stage 3+ non turbo clutch in it because I had a problem with it not fully disengaging sometimes. When I pulled it out, I found that some of the springs were working their way out of the center hub, but couldn't see where they had...

    Driftmotion downpipe hitting the bellhousing?

Mine is the same way, it barely touches thought, and hasn't caused any issues.

    Clutch not releasing fully

I'm running a spec stage 3 NA clutch with my 7mgte/w58 combo, I have had this setup for over 3 years without any problems. The clutch was out about 15,000 miles ago when the engine was, and it was inspected and put back in, nothing wrong with it. Recently I developed this issue where I cant get...

    FYI: W58 slave cylinder differences

Having a little trouble with mine as well, could anyone chime in on this? I have a cheapo slave and my clutch refuses to disengage completely, even after being adjusted, but it only started recently and I have had this slave for a while. I measured the bore to be .874" and it has an anodized...

    7MGTE Oil Pressure Problems

Easy way to check the oil cooler relief.. With engine idling, pinch off the oil line coming from the oil filter head and see if this causes a rise in oil pressure.

    The Small Questions Thread

Kick panel might have been a little vague my bad. If I recall correctly (it's been a while) it's further up closer to under the steering column. It's a wallet sized rectangular blue box. You can take it apart and look for any burned up components but the easiest thing to do is put a known good...

    The Small Questions Thread

Might have something to do with the blue headlamp box aka integration relay no.2 in the drivers side kick panel.

Cold start missfire 2000rpm with video

Yeah I might be able to do that, I need to learn how to properly use it first though. I also remember that even the primary voltage spike was exceeding the safe max voltage for my DSO, so I would need to somehow attenuate it. Biggest issue is I need to learn how to use my particular DSO which I...

Cold start missfire 2000rpm with video

The plugs weren't wet and neither were the pistons, there's just some light white crust on the ground electrode which tells me there's some minor oil burning happening. Doesn't smoke on startup or anything. Unfortunately I don't have the means to do any secondary analysis. I could potentially...

Cold start missfire 2000rpm with video

Iat/ect and their wiring both check out. There's evidence of some slight oil burning but Im not convinced that is causing this.

Cold start missfire 2000rpm with video

I checked the coils a while back and all the primary resistances were in spec, couldn't find any cracks on any of them. I had a spare set so I changed them over anyways, these also in spec, and made no difference. I just changed the wires and changed the plugs to iridium's, no difference in the...

Cold start missfire 2000rpm with video

Yeah, I have actually checked the compression, they were all pretty even and right around 175PSI in all cylinders. I also had a valve job done on the most recent build just in case. Valves were all adjusted when rebuilt as well. I am not sure about the vf when it misfires, I can take a look...

Cold start missfire 2000rpm with video

Bump any ideas? I should add that when the mixture is rich, the car drives smooth. When its very cold outside, sometimes it takes up to a minute or so for the air/fuel ratio to go to 14.7, and the engine runs smooth. As soon as the mixture reaches 14.7 it starts to buck and miss only at 2000 to...

Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3,...NOW FOUR!

+1 I soldered mine as well. If you go this route, you could also just bend some copper pipe instead of trying to find new pipes. If you are using an aftermarket core which it looks like you are, there's a good chance the sealing surfaces are not perfect, mine were not perfectly round. Either...

heater takes a long time to warm up on car toyota 87 supra turbo

Start simple, do the lines in the engine bay both get hot fairly quickly after the engine has been running? Does the heater valve in the engine bay move to the UP position (open) when the heater is turned on? What temp does the engine reach when it is fully warmed up? Check it with a temp gun to...

DIY: R-12 to R-134a Conversion (How To)

You need the 89+ evap, evap plastic box, TXV and short line assembly that bolts to the TXV, then it will bolt right in. The evap plastic box is different for 89+ on the inside but bolts up to all the pre89 stuff around it...
