I would suggest Driftmotions helicoil upgrade, I've got it and so do others. It's a lot easier to do when the head's not on yet. Is it on? If it is, I'd probably just helicoil it, but you shouldn't have to wory about the exhaust studs for a good long time with this kit ;).

It's not the problem of the oil thinning out due to high temps that you have to worry about, it's the oil loosing it's viscosity from the heat that's the killer. You may see a slight difference between the 10W30 and 5W30, but almost every bit of that difference is going to be notice on a cold...
