Just some food for thought...Be careful with static when handling a circuit card like that. I see a few IC's on there that can easily get zapped and kill your unit. Always wear a ground strap to ground yourself and a grounded work bench. P.S. paper is a huge source of static.

That is normal. It is just a fault in the design of the circuit. The switch doesn't realize the headlight isn't fully closed so if you turn the switch to quickly the light gets frozen in whatever position it is in.

Good effort but 194 style bulbs are readily available at any electronics surplus store in a variey of colors. Check on ebay for #194 leds. They just plug in and have built in resistors so they will work on any 12V input voltage.

Stock head bolts are torque to yield which means the recomended torque value for the bolts brings the material of the bolts to its "yield strength" limit. NEVER re-use torque to yield bolts, they have been "stretched".
