I recently bought the OEM Ishinu gasket set for the 7mGTE motor and I am looking through my seals and I cant seem to find what this seal is for. It came in the small bag with the valve stem seals and has the same dimensions as a camshaft oil seal. I am thinking it might be a seal for a non turbo...
For a quick test with the key off,
Take the small metal cap off next to the spare tire in the rear trunk and disconnect the two wire plug. Remember what side goes where and depin the two wires going to the fuel pump from the connector and apply 12v + and - to the fuel pump and listen if you...
When retorting the crank DO NOT do that rope trick. That should only be used to help keep the valves in place when removing the valve retainers and also it could get tangled up in a knot as well. Just take off the front lower inspection plate on the transmission and use something to hold the...
I have my 7mGTE motor in the machine shop now and they are replacing the bearings on the oil pump shaft as well. It is still a few weeks before they even start on it but once I get some info on it I will let you know what I find as a replacement.
You definitely want to change those bearings...
Yes, its a good idea to get a new one from Rock Auto for $170 (there is also a 5% off promo code on here that expires sometime in July). On the bottom mark you do not need to take off any covers. It is marked on the outer lower timing cover and you will see a notch in the harmonic pulley to line...
I would not throw more parts until you test your TPS sensor per TSRM. To me with that idle surge to 1500 to 800 it sounds like a bad or out of adjustment TPS sensor. Have you adjusted that sensor or had it off of the car since your problem?
When you tested for spark did you have the spark plug...
It looks very good. I was just wondering as I am working on a few parts myself and was wondering if there is any good products you would recommend if you did. I am using the VHT clear coat I get at my local AutoZone but im just about out.
No chips just piggybacks and higher priced standalone's for better engine management control.
First thing I would do is make sure maintenance is up to date so your Supra can run its best at a OEM power level. Then for a nice little upgrade I would do
- 3" intake filter
- full 3" exhaust from...
On your thermostat housing check to make sure you have things properly connected. The Aux fan sensor and the a/c fan switch are not going to contribute to your issue but your cold start injector time switch and ECU temp switch will...
Reminds me of Homer Simpson looking at doughnuts. Its unique what you have but just adding a few quick ideas that may give you some more inspiration: NY 7M , NY GTE, 7M XLR8, 7M PWR
It looks like your sensor on the bottom is broken and it should have a blue connector coming off of it for that one.
On that catalytic converter, a new o2 sensor will not help you. Once I installed a full 3" exhaust years ago and had both of my converters removed, the fuel smell came on strong...
A slipping timing belt is not a common problem on these cars. Not saying it cant happen but it is very rare. Since you got a project car it is definitely a good starting point to check the timing and go from there but just like James said a disconnected (or bad)AFM could also cause your...
Good to hear you got it running. I would say right away check the "Cam Position Sensor" wiring/connector and with it running, slightly wiggle it to see if it changes rpms or your idle changes back to normal.
Ok, just curious because RC makes some great incectors and if you have Venom injectors those are junk and cause a lot of problem's and have even ruined people's motors.
