I know the larger upper plate (where the starter goes through and bolted to the rear block) is the same but I think the lower plate is the same as well. I am currently doing a auto to manual conversion and I have both plates and they look similar.
To be honest I do not recall the maximum whp i have seen on a AR5 transmission. If you do go with the CD009, make sure you get the later version as it was revised to be more reliable with upgrades such as the "triple cone synchronizer" in certain gears. You will see that the earlier versions of...
What kind of Walbro pump do you plan on running?
I am looking into the Walbro 450 (F90000274) myself as it is rated for e85 and offers great high fuel pressure.
Yes the factory red coolant is very good quality. As for that green stuff I have seen bad results from others. If you can't get a hold of the factory red coolant, Valvoline Zerex Asian vehicle coolant is a better alternative to that green coolant as well.
I am sure any auto parts store or even hardware store will have that o-ring but just bring in yours to compare it to. I personally would not recommend sealer on something that uses a o-ring.
Either the Cd009 or you can look into the AR5 transmission that was used in GM vehicles such as the Saturn SKY or Pontiac Solstice. The AR5 is pretty much the same as a r154 with some small changes done.
The starters are interchangeable through all year mk3 Supra's but the only difference is later model starters are threaded to help with the bolt installation but either style works.
What plates are you talking about?
I have been driving without powersteering for about 4 years since I have a bad leak in my rack. Great forearm workout as most of my friends say lol. I just rebuilt my pump with a new Gates seal kit for $13 since I am coming up on a big build soon and plan on having everything working like it...
I have never done one for a Supra but I have seen it done to other vehicles. It looks like once you remove that pin located in the lower middle of the plastic it should come off and I would imagine you would see two o-rings to seal the reservoir to the metal master cylinder housing.
I have never seen a bleeder valve on the steering rack. If you are 100% sure your belt it tight and filled with the proper amount of automatic transmission fluid then I would say it sounds like you may have a bad pump. It would probably void your warranty if you do decide to take it back to Auto...
Yes it is 14ft lbs and I went in in about 3 passes myself (5,10,14) as you want to make sure the caps are all seated due to the valves opening putting resistance on the camshaft causing it to be uneven.
The non turbo Supra has 1 cat (about where the transmission is located) and the turbo Supra has two (one on the down pipe and the other is in the same spot as the non turbo). I would say your BIC downpipe probably has no cats built-in so it probably will not pass emissions unless your 2nd cat is...
The one I am using now is "Loctite Professional Heavy Duty Epoxy" from Home Depot and it is quick drying but I still let it sit for a few hours before I reinstall anything. It is two parts in a single tube and it works great for metal, plastics and wood as well. If you do not go with that one...
All you need to do is remove the upper rear plastic interior piece in the car (make sure you take extra care of this piece as the tabs break easy over time and remove all screws such as behind the seatbelt also), remove the top seat belt bolt and you will need a deep 10mm socket for the two long...
From the picture to me they look like two different styles. The left is the newer style plug with the nickel plating and the copper on the right is the old style plug. I have seen some plugs that have removable tips on top that unscrew for different style wires. Does your unscrew on top or fit...
If you look all the way in the front near the cam seal, you will see a larger hole with a line in the middle of the journal. That is where the oil supply comes in and then flows throughout the rest of the journals.
It looks like you have two different style racks. One is the early style with the non PPS and the other is the later style with the PPS.
What year is your Supra?
Thanks for the replies. Yes, it is for the OEM oil cap. I could not tell because I have a aluminum TRD oil cap going on and it only has a small o-ring on it and I have set my OEM oil cap aside.
I really hope they keep these going. These shocks ride amazing paired with Eibach springs and I dont want to get rid of my mint t.e.m.s. buttons either lol.
