the only reason i raced him him in the end is because i know the owner of the car and the driver (very good one at that). The reason his car got all sloppy is because his tranny took a shit and threw all the power to one wheel.
I just reacted in time to avoid clipping him but its all good...
Took a friend out to dinner and on the way back to her place a little 1g dsm rolls up next to me and asks if i want to race. I look at his car and wonder why he is asking and tell him i dont want to on a city street. So he tells me his friend has a civic and we'd race just out of town. So i get...
Holy pigeon feet batman!
Looks awesome man, i know wut you mean about it looking much lower after being on stands forever. Cant wait to see vids of this car done.
My dad bought me the big red one from a friend.
the smaller one is from a yard sale. Popular mechanics toolbox ftw!
and the blue traveler box is gonna go in the trash when it finishes warping. I bought it at the mall when the Same Goody went out of bussiness and sold everything down to the...
Well i FINALLY got someone to try and run against me since i finished up my car and wouldn't you know it they both happened to be MKIII's on the same one way st. at the same time.
Was at a friends party and decided to make a run to wendy's w/ a friend so we took off down a one way in town and...
Heh dont know how much help this may be but i did something similar w/ my dads rider mower back in HS. Problem was not having an actual throttle flap just a choke lever. Once the thing was running it was redlining and it was pretty much just a clutch drop.
pics on page 2...
Glad to hear it got fired up again. I'll be flying back just in time to take my car.
Get your car going man, whatever it takes so i can properly whooop you w/ your own turbo. :)
Thnx for the interest! Re-sparks my enthusiasm for the thing.
Redid the exhaust because it was a POS hack job before so i redid the piping and had the welds redone to perfection w/ 3'' mandrel bends :icon_bigg ,
Heres some pics to hold you over till i find the $'s to get some dyno time...
A generic block tester.
I got mine at napa, glass tube that fits onto radiator filler hole and you let the car run for like 15 minutes and the liquid inside the glass tube will change color if its got co2 in it. aka exhaust gas creeping into coolant system.
Cost me $50
I was GOING to do that, but i got as far as putting the wrench on the head bolt and then chickened out and just accepted that it if it wasnt blown why fuck w/ it.
If its leaking now, than its already blown and this wont really fix anything. You could delay the inevitable or finish it off all...
Pimp,... ^ i'll read that later.
Ya i am not proud of the logic behind my work because i did it all 2 weeks after buying the car and like 2 days after finding this website so i was not very informed about the ways of the 7m. But its been holding for 14k miles w/ the stock ct at ~11psi and the...
haha i noticed that too. best was a 13 sec run but it shredded the tire right off!
That guy is gonna need a fire suit and some balls to drive that car though. Im laughing at the fact that my friend has to change the clutch in his vette, especially after looking at that layout.
i got composite w/ head prep only on stock head bolts at 76 ftlbs holding 13 psi on a 57 trim fairly well, later this summer i'll go for 18 psi a few weeks before im ready to store it for winter again :)
Hey man i know its bad when IJ starts giving you flack but in all honestly. If you have a shell that is ready to be tested w/ i say go for it. Im just interested in seeing it done.
But i'd address this issue first ^
It may not be the most cost effective move of the century but the things...
My stoner friends pound a bottle of vinegar the day before and drink insane amounts of water.
then they show up and the nurse says "lets to a mouth swab test instead"
they seam to pass with flying colors.
Its a reasonable move w/ the dentsport 240 because of the way it was built. It uses ram air because of the ductwork made specifically for that setup and has no big airflow restrictions behind it. Look at it its just open.
To make this practical on a MKIII would be REALLY hard. Weight...
ya like everyone said keep it.
wut i did to help w/ the heat soak boiling over thing is let it idle like your doing. And i removed the rubber weather stripping behind the engine between the hood and the car. Its got like 8 clips but it really brought down my temps and i dont have to worry...
