Ok, I had codes 41 and51 so they are both related to the TPS. So I decided to take it off and check everything out. When I took it off it was a little loose for some reason. I reinstalled it and it looks like there are 2 tabs that the 2 tabs on the TB fit into. I just put it all back together...
It's so small, but I'll have another car in 2 weeks that I will be parting out so I can take the part off of that one. I thinkI should be able to do a quick fix. It's just so hot here and starting a new job where I have to drive so I need some AC for a little while.
sweet thank you!! I'm going to see what I can figure out to close up that tiny whole and get some more freon. Now it's time to put on the boost controller once that's fixed.
Ok found out a couple of things.
If I disconnect the AC plug and run a wire directly to the battery the AC clutch kicks on. When I go look at my boost gauge it goes from 20.5 in to 19.7in instead of dropping down to 18.5 like before. Also find that my turbo oil hose was rubbing on the AC...
Oh yeah those 720's you might as well get a standalone. I've had 680's and they were very hard to tune on the piggy back I have. I now have PTE 580 injectors and they are great and I still run rich with a bolt on JT58 turbo at 13psi for now. But I've run 20 psi and was about 430rwhp and still...
Do some tunning. You should be fine with 17psi on pump with that turbo. You didn't mention what sized injectors you have, that might be it right there. Anything over 17psi run race gas with 550's. I have the same setup as you for the most part, but I do a lot of tunning on my car. You need...
Thanks Dean, I may have to do that. I know that I have freon in the system because I just used it and filled it. The Clutch is not engaging for some reason, it looks fine, I'm thinking that it is electrical.
You will need a 89 harness for it to work flawlessly. You can still buy them from Champion in houston. 89 was a wierd year for the MK3.
That is where I bought mine not too long ago.
OK, Saturday night the AC was working just fine, cold and blowing normal. The clutch is not clicking over, because when it does I see a 2in vac drop when it kicks on. It is not kicking on. The engine bay is really clean, I jacked the car up and checked all the connections and they are all...
Hey guys, when I got my car running I refilled my AC system. The one thing that I noticed was that there was a loud squeal at first when I turned the system on. I sprayed some belt lube and loosened the belt a little and it went almost all the way. It's been working for the past couple of...
Wow you guys haven't raced a nice 240! There are a ton of them here. I got beat last night by a buddy of mine's 97 S14 with a SR20 with a T61 turbo he was at 19psi and I was at 13 but he runs 11.8's all day at the 1/4 mile track with street tires. There are a lot of fast 240's around here...
I was going to say the same thing. Your car picked up a ton on the big end 25mph. Your 1/8 mile seems really slow. I've done 8.1 @ 90mph with a 2.0 60' on only 420rwhp. Look at your fuel map and see what you can do to gain some more low end power.
edit, nevermind, didn't see duanes post...
I'm still getting this 14 code but only when I'm driving around normal. It seems like it's a vaccum leak at the manifold, but I can find one. My gauge at that point goes from -20in to -18-17in vac. But it's only when just crusing around, when in boost my car does perfectly fine. Only...
You don't have to but I did because I didn't want to take the chance of it moving at all.
Turbotoy if you want to call me or me call you that's fine with me. PM me your number or I can send you mine.
You shouldn't have to cut away any of the heat sheilds. Look at my build thread and you will see I didn't touch mine. I'm going to actually powder coat mine as well.
the dipstick you can bend it just enough to have the tap bolt up to the exhaust housing or just bolt it to the Flange for...
