Cool -- thanks all. With plans to drop AEM into it, I am not going to waste my time on a SAFC-II, so I guess I'll try dropping my AFPR some and see what happens...for now.
Ya -- I figured 10 was pretty rich...I was looking at it as I'd much rather be rich than lean. Until I get AEM EMS into it, I'm without any type of fuel controller. Any way to pull fuel under boost without a piggy back? Pull the vacuum line from my AFPR?
Less than 1300? Where? I paid 1800 for mine a couple of months ago and I was lucky to get one because of them being discontinued. I hope aem continues software support for them!
So, I bumped my boost from stock to 9 psi today. I'm running a T67, 50mm WG, 550cc inj, and a Lexus MAF on a stock ECU...and a Walbro 255 and some off brand AFPR. The bottom end was built with forged parts.
At full boost my AFR stuck steady around 10 (measured with a AEM wideband), so I'm...
Yep...I asked this question before and was told it's Toyota's answer to gas mileage. Mine runs 16-18 at idle and even 16ish at cruise. Under load it immediately jumps to 12ish. This is by design to save gas.
HA! Just stumbled upon this thread. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has called the engineers really bad names. When I dropped my GTE in I didn't bother installing the starter first...figured it would go in fine after I get the motor in place (I dropped it in with the tranny...
Ya -- that heat shield is still there. This was just an old hose, wrong size (3/4" instead of the correct 5/8"), and just weak altogether. All "fixed" now...
Yep -- already been down that road with that back one on my son's NA. They're both a PITA! Replaced the front one today so I'm at least back on the road. :-/
Just finished posting this in the "what did you do to your supra today?" thread...
Almost took a 5gal can of gas and a match to mine today. Couple of days ago I felt I had licked it's cooling issues. Took it for an extended drive today and temps were great even in 100* temps this afternoon in...
Almost took a 5gal can of gas and a match to mine today. Couple of days ago I felt I had licked it's cooling issues. Took it for an extended drive today and temps were great even in 100* temps this afternoon in AZ. My son heads out with it this evening and calls me down from my bedroom about...
Yep -- give it a shot. That 14-22 amp draw they claim is sustained draw -- the initial surge when they turn on is a bit more...that's what will blow your fuse if it's under rated. Best way to tell for sure is with a multimeter...check your draw both when they turn on for the initial surge and...
Typically any set of dual fans will pull a 30-50 amp initial surge and then run around 20. As long as your wiring can handle the amperage, you should have at least a 40 amp maxi wired in.
Have a look at this thread...your questions will more than likely be answered.

Thanks -- I think I licked it today. The crap fans that came with my radiator were just that...crap. I replaced them today with a set of fans that were on the car I pulled this motor out of. They're not Toyota, but they fit my shroud mounts perfect and they pull about twice as much air as the...
I just saw in the "what did you do to your supra today" thread about someone mounting their oil cooler in front of the radiator and it was mentioned not a good idea because of the heat the oil cooler generates. That might be half MY problem! I have my oil cooler mounted to my condensor which...
Lately, I've been wishing the sumbitch WOULD burn to the ground...it's insured by Hagerty.
Seriously, though, I haven't given it a second thought. There's nothing flopping around that would short it out and the braided fuel line "near" it is tight and has no chance of movement. I will...
True -- they have nothing to do with each other. Yes, the speedo is mechanical and the tach is obviously electrical. Coincidence is the only explanation.
