    Noises

If U haven't changed the fluid in awhile, it's worth being done anyways. Yes, easy... Undo the FILL plug 1st... then the drain plug. Make sure to add the LSD additive or search to find which brand/type has worked for others (w/o additional "Ford" additive from Toyota). You will need a long...

    Is this wrong of me?

^^ Here too. Boxes and boxes. Hoping karma will repay me (got a lotto ticket today!)

Simple Ebay parts, would you put it on your car?

I would take the shape of the engine as a factor first... You put any of this stuff on a wore-out-7M and you will likely blow something up, and blame these parts. Also, depends on what you are trying to do... time/quality/cost. Are you just trying to go single and looking at pieces, or do...

    1JZ with an 2JZ ECU

In my "wiring peer review thread," I think I included a link to the Excel spreadsheet which correlates the Aristo 2JZ w/the JZA70 1JZ.... May be called test pinout or something like that. I'll see if I can find the direct link... TRD87T created it for his 1JZ swap, to use a 2JZ ECU, in his 88...

Black on Black!!! Lower and tinted, yay or nay?

Being in Cali, I would've assumed you'd already have tint done... I'm a big fan of tint and love how it looks on my black 91, or the wife's black 94. Hell, even the 07 Mazda 5 has tint all around. I say tint, unless you like the "open-ness" or whatever reason the non-tint does it for you.

    code 14 IGF wire

I'd suggest that you disconnect from the ECU and pull the harness into the engine bay. This will give you more room to see what else is going on with the wiring. So U didn't have the code/issue BEFORE you cut the wire? I'd doublecheck that nothing else was accidentally cut and/or...

    Heater core feedback please

Okay, so I am tired of this Fing coolant smell, inside my Sup. Looked to get a used replacement, but PPL want too much $$, or are not very responsive (I gave my extras away a couple years back). I was going to pressure test the replacement, soon as i got it. However, I found that local auto...

    code 14 IGF wire

Can U post pics of the wires/connector you're working on?

    code 14 IGF wire

Where is the splice, or wires cut? Near the ignitor, at the dash, etc?
  10. S

    code 14 IGF wire

I don't think it's shielded, but it may depend on where you are looking to splice. I removed the black/orange wire from the B1 connector at the dash, and connected them directly (outside of the plastic). Looked to be a regular unshielded wire in that location.

Using the Aristo tranny in the MA70

For the speedo, I got an Apexi Rev/Speed Meter deal. Again, did not install. Still I think, using the MKIII shifter and JZA70 tranny/bellhousing is probably the easiest route to go. Seems like most 1JZers went w/the R154, so there are still quite a few of those auto trannies sitting around...

Using the Aristo tranny in the MA70

I had a custom driveshaft made and tried using an MKIV/SC300 shifter...PITA. Have a leftover $400 driveshaft for the Aristo tranny, but doubt I'll ever use it ('cept the NEW center bearing). Ended up going 5-speed for now, but am assuming that I can use a 1JZ/JZA70 auto trans, when I get too...

    PS pump rebuild

I checked and the Toyota kit just has a few seals/gaskets. I was looking for something that would freshen up everything inside, but there isn't a "full" kit, AFAIK. I think that when I asked about the flow control valve (which I thought was my original issue), it was over $120 by itself. I...

Anyone think of a good reason the 1j wasn't put in USDM Supras?

I am sure that just like all "pilot" programs, Toyota looked at options, ROI, short/long-term strategy, etc. There may have even been regulation that kept it from happening at the time, or other factors we do not have any clue about. just wasn't a high priority during that time. Maybe they...

Some R154 Transmission Rebuild In Progress Pictures

Bump... Just looking to see if there're any updates with the rebuilds some of ya'll did in 2006. Below are some links/resources/info I am using for mine. I am at the point of pressing things off/on. For those who replaced their synchros, my new ones are not marked/labeled, so I am assuming...

    2jzge vvti into mk3 swap

Would suggest the N/A section of this forum and Supraforums. Also, ClubLexus.com is a great resource for this type info.

    help with reading codes...

Start at page FI-23 of the TRSM and read stickies/FAQ/Searches for other tips. You basically have to jumper the E1 and T1 terminals in the Diag box, then read the amount/sequence of flashes of your Check Engine Light. The TRSM has a list of codes and what they mean, in that same section.

    Alternater problem??? Please help.

Since U already plan to change starter... I'd suggest taking the replacement starter, alternator, and battery to an auto parts store that does "free" test/diagnosis (like Autozone). Yes, I know you tested the system, but sometimes there are intermittent failures of these components (or between...

    XXR rims

^^Yep... they even easily get dented from routine road debris, but the dings aren't too deep.

    XXR rims

Wasn't rantin' anyone specific. Just really disappointed that the debate is still going with the "you get what you pay for," theme, but no one's posted any data that gives a wheel-for-wheel comparison which supports that claim. Equivalent to "I paid "six figures" for my wheels, so they are...
