    Covering aftermarket spoiler holes

When in Okinawa, I remember seeing alot of those types of holes, closed up with maybe a bolt/cap. Since I plan on occasionally swapping to the stock spoiler back on, I am going to find a "flat-headed" bolt that I can use to temporarily seal up the holes. I am using a whaletail, which hides the...

    Oil pan drain discovery (1JZ)

Good info... Any issues with clearance to the ground (standard Eibach Sport spring height, w/18" wheels)? As many times as I've scraped the subframe/oilpan, I wanna B sure I don't damage it some way that will leave me without oil (rodknock or seized engine on side of highway).

    Timing belt broke

...would also suggest you look at or replace front main seal while you're there.

    Rear Suspension

Common to have a cracked subframe in the early Turbo MKIIIs. If you have the opportunity to upgrade to an 89+ subframe cheap (they usually run less than $150), get it (if you have a turbo anyways, dunno about cracking w/the N/As).

Heli Coil thread (thread... get it!? ;-)

Dunno about cutting into the metal, to get to and replace/weld a new nut, to then weld the cut metal to close things back up. What would that cost to do at a body shop? Lots of folks swear by heli-coil and it seems trusted for work, similar to this. They swear it's stronger than it was...

    MK3 BBK Kit!!!

^^I'm figuring I'd be swapping in another set of slotted/x-drilled rotors and powder coating the calipers (blue) to match my paint scheme... once I have everything. Before I powder coat the calipers, I'd be rebuilding them anyways (no need to pay more for a rebuilt pair, but we'll see)...

    A/C Retrofit

I used this thread's info when I redid all of my A/C stuff. http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?44138-HOW-TO-Charging-your-A-C-air-conditioner-conditioning-system-at-home. A dryer/receiver can be had at most autoparts for around $30. I ordered mine from ACkits.com (~$18), 'cause I...

    A/C Retrofit

The dryer/receiver should be changed almost anytime you open the system up. First, it's many years old and probably has captured/filtered all that it could... Second, once you open the system up (and leave open long enough), it captures moisture from the air. Third, especially if U R changing...

Heli Coil thread (thread... get it!? ;-)

One of my front seat belt anchor points are stripped. Looking to heli coil and wondered if anyone else has done it already and knows the drill bit/insert sizes to use. I also need to heli-coil one of my hatch bump stops' bolts... Please add other areas where you've successfully used...

Aristo swap giving some trouble. No codes, misfiring, more.. [Added video]

^^not to mention the leaked oil that builds up in there, sometimes fouling the plugs.

Aristo swap giving some trouble. No codes, misfiring, more.. [Added video]

^Mine didn't. Had to swap/test. Replaced one (rear) CPS and all got better (seal was broke and oil in it).

Check the things that don't usually trip a code... Vacuum lines, CPS connections, etc... Good luck!!

I have question about removing the rear subframe.

Dunno that there is a specific sequence. Don't remember seeing it in the TRSM. I replaced my SF bushing and have some pics/write-up in this thread... Starts at around post #99. http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?89326-GB-MK3-Front-amp-Rear-Subframe-Poly-Bushings Hope it helps...

    1jz code 14 bad ecu?

I had the same issue and it turned out that the thick black/orange wire (B1 connector) was not making a good connection, within the plastic connectors (I had already swapped ignitors, ECUs, etc, etc). I unpinned the wires from the plastic connector/housing and joined them together outside...

Targa people, would you be interested in...

My car definitely feels better with all of the suspension changes (poly bushings, new springs/struts, SF bushings, etc). The wing definitely provides a certain rigidity that I can tell is not there w/targa off. Because my suspension is fairly new & stiff, I can still feel some flex in the body...
