I just bought another T4 ~67 trim turbo for $239 delivered (Ebay). The last one lasted about 5 years @ 363HP (stock boost @ ~9PSI). I think I Fed it up and starved it for oil, when I was messing w/my tranny rebuild (may have kinked the oil feed line).
Your call, but I'd put the $$ towards...
^I got mine from O'Reilly's also. Definitely looked like it could leak where the tubes attach (lip was almost non-existent). I soldered my tubes on, to avoid having to go back in there for o-ring leak, etc. Do not ever want to smell coolant in the cockpit again (like I have w/all my MKIIIs).
Recently found some oil in same place on my 2J. Valve cover gaskets are fine... Looked closely and looks like the 2 small hoses between the valve covers may be the culprit. There was a very faint trail coming from the bottom of each, where they meet the valve cover nipples. The hoses are...
^ +1.... We've done this swap before. I did it w/a stock '99 JDM Supra ECU. Almost all aftermarket ECUs have the ability to address VVTi/wasted spark. The technology is good... it will actually be more work for you to delete than not.
Also, there are several threads on Supraforums and...
I did the same thing, but got lots of grief about "not doing it right." I used a dremel tool to cut a hole into the dust/heat shield and tapped the broken studs out one at a time, through the hole. Ideally, you want to find/have a large enough grommet to close the hole. I did not completely...
Yeah, there's a signal/connection you make to over-ride/control arm/disarm the factory system. Can't remember the exact one, but you'll see in the install instructions for that model alarm.
I used a couple of write-ups here for my Python... added all kinds of modules and extras. Can be intimidating, but have to have the discipline to handle/connect 1 wire at a time. Can do at home in about 3 hours, for a first timer.
Good luck!
U can use the GTE fan blade & clutch w/stock radiator. Lots of debate about the the cooling differences of either (electric vs mechanical), but almost a personal preference thing. Just put the clutch/fan on it and be done for awhile. U can always go electric later. The only thing that does...
That paint/dye holds up pretty good. Getting ready to replace my black carpet again and was looking for areas where I'd need to touch up and all is good (knock on wood).
Your interior looks amazing!!
Intrax tend to sag sometimes. I had a similar issue where one wheel stuckk out furtehr than the other side... Ended up being the rear subframe bushings. Once I replaced those, everything was where it needed to be. Good luck!
I soldered the tubes to permanently seal. When you get in there, you will see how easily they can leak, even with new o-rings. Good luck!
Also, this is a good oppty to tuck away alarm modules/wiring and add power/ground distribution blocks.
This has usually been the case for me... Large screwdriver/prybar where others have mentioned.
"Walk" around the head and find anything that looks like it may be fastened on the head & block. Take your time and don't assume anything... physically check to see that it is not binded in some...
I soldered the metal pipes on my heater core, to avoid leaks from the gasket/o-ring. When dash is out... install 12-volt & ground distribution blocks, where future accessories can tap into "professionally."
Rebuild/replace your clutch master, if it's near it's end-of-life... Takes about 30...
...Favor please.
Wanted to update my condensor's pics in this thread, but can't seem to find the original pics. If anyone has a copy of them please post 'em up, or send them to me g099521@yahoo.com and I will host, to update the pics in this thread. Much appreciated.
Once I put it on 18s, haven't had any issues ('cept for the low-hanging midpipe). Should be okay, but that plug still seems kinda vulnerable. The valve's only 'round $25US so worth a try I guess.
