Removed/replaced the 2JZ in my MKIII many times :-/ Installed my engine again this last weekend and looking up the checklist again. I use it as a "checklist" every time, so that I don't miss anything (U know how it is, when U think U already know everything).
Great info, I use over & over...
It doesn't necessarily appear that any uneven wear will be that drastic. If I was just street driving (daily commute), I would not worry about it. If you're doin' tack/roadracing, wouldn't U be changing to track pads for those events? Also, the cosmetic appearance is negligible, unless...
Always been a fan of 5-spokes... The offsets always worried me, but seen some others use the same types of wheels, without any apparent issues. Nicer than stock sawblades for sure. Good luck!
I've gotten a couple of kits and some of the hoses are "thin-walled" so what out for those. They are the ones which will flatten out under vacuum. I ended up replacing a few with standard black vacuum lines. Good luck!
EDIT: Also use zip ties with 'em. They can blow off of the nipples and...
Check the wires on the cigarette lighter, as well as try without the lighter in the socket. The gauge fuse seems to be tied to a few "unexpected" things, like the cigarette lighter. Have you installed aftermarket gauges or any wiring work recently?
EDIT: NEVERMIND, posted the info below, with a 7M on my mind. Sorry.
Who installed the headgasket? There shoulda been some RTV/sealant applied at the gap between the front timing case & block... happened to me once. Became big-@$$ leak in no time... 1st picture/diagram of page EM55 in the...
Thanks, sounds easy enuff. Got mine way-too-far-long ago to worry Shine about it. I'll get this knocked out along with my other Winter projects. Much appreciated!
I have a few things available, so want to try to fix myself. I have left-over Fibrefill from when I filled in the front nosepiece, and have another couple of epoxies that say they are good for "plastics."
Anyone else having the seam-split issue? Mine is separating at that horizontal seam (above driver's side taillight, maybe about 5-6 inches long) and I would like to know if anyone else has successfully fixed it? Maybe some type of epoxy? Write-up?
I emailed ShineAutoProject, but haven't...
Just order the rebuild kit and rebuild it yourself... Takes about 10 minutes (besides removing/reinstalling). I think I used a Toyota kit for the MKIV, but maybe a kit from NAPA for the MKIII. Good luck!
Also, a rebuilt MC will have been checked for bore wear/tolerances as well. I trust...
Awesome stuff... coulda used the consolidated info 8+ years ago ;-)
One of the things that may be there, but I did not see.
1. R154 Speed Sensor (ABS) - I had to add it to the JDM tranny by removing the plug/cap and installing the sensor, then running the wires all the way to the dash...
Did 363HP w/my turbo... so bought another, now that I am upgrading the injectors & turning up the boost. Dunno why U think it's not worth it. I originally got mine to buy time while I did a bunch of other work and am quite happy with it's performance. I believe that I accidentally starved...
