To be honest I don't have genuine DBA ones. I'm using some other knock off sort so I assume I'll have to bed them in and heat cycle them etc
but at $78 each new - I couldn't complain :)
Thread hijacking is fine by me - I'm very interested in braking advice :)
The rotors I've got (324x30mm 350z track rotors DBA4600 is their DBA part number) are a better fit than the MKIV ones, and 1mm larger :biglaugh:
I will try and source some rotor heat paint and see what the temps are...
More than that I would imagine lol
Nah not really that powerful. To be honest it's more like 230kmph.
They would be touching 270 I would imagine, maybe 280....
Cheers :)
From what I've been told - as long as I use decent pads, add some cooling ducting, the 324mm (12.75") will be fine - heck, the V8 supercars were using one about that size up until a few years ago lol
At the end of the straight I was doing 140-145mph - but by the time I hit the grass I was doing ~90mph so probably about 80mph by the time I hit the trap.
But yeah - I now know to check brakes before going out between sessions hehe
Brakes aren't all that expensive if you just want to have a fun day at the track every few weeks or so.
My calipers (Wilwood 4pot Superlite) were $200NZD, Pads (Ferodo 2500) were $280NZD, disks were about $90NZD each and then you just need to get adapters made up.
Cant wait to get them on...
How did I mount what? There was no question and I have not mounted anything yet.
I'm going with Nissan GTR rotors which are 324x30mm and have a hat height of 53.75 verses the MK3's 53.5
As soon as I get the disks I'm going to give them plus my calipers and pads to a mate who's making me up...
Hey all
I'm after some 13" disks, slotted, for my MK3 (using Wilwood Superlite 4 pots).
Can anyone suggest a disk to use?
Does anyone have the specs of the standard 89+ front MA70 calipers? Mounting dimensions etc etc?
Cheers
Hunt
Yeah reckon! Had Mintex 1166 pads and Motul RBF600 fluid and stainless lines - but standard single pot calipers HAHA YUCK!
Have just purchased some 4 pot wilwood's. Just now trying to find some really thick disks (~1.25") and about 12-12.5" diameter....
Went to the track last weekend - had a complete blast!
Had good fun - didn't have camera first session then forgot to record the third session. My gearbox is buggered - synchro's are stuffed hence all the crunching, and the gearstick would often jam going from 4th to 5th.
Here's the 2nd...
