I would've thought the best/safest option would be to drive it directly off the crank - otherwise you're introducing another failure point (crank to water pump belt) into the mix?

7,500rpm with 240/625/17 slicks (a bit taller than 245/40/17's) with a 4.5:1 diff and W55 box. Mods as per sig :)

WRONG ECU is either the com port is wrong, or the cable is wrong. Try a DB9 to USB cable.
