All I did was put RTV on the stud. Seems to be working fine.. if it fails it gives me an excuse to rebuild.. but it doesn't seem like it's going to.

I actually have one of those cracks from bolt hole to steam hole. Hasn't affected the engine in anyway that I can tell.. I actually forgot that I had it until now. lol

Normal? Not really. Usual for old 7Ms and CTs? You bet. If you really wanna see if its from the inside of outside boost leak the intercooler and piping while you're at it. No boost leak = no oil leak.

Probably more of a safety thing, as it does next to nothing for chassis stiffness.
And saying we're making claims based on empirical evidence of which the source and context of information is unknown is just false. Hvyman and I have both given you factual reasons why they do next to nothing for...
You're thinking of the VSV (vacuum switching valve) that goes to the EGR. that needs to be blocked off. The other VSV is under the intake and goes to the FPR. The BVSV (Bi-metallic vacuum switching valve) is on the water neck and that goes from the TB to the charcoal canister. That is what...
The difference is targa vs. hardtop. There is way more metal in a targa than a hardtop. My 1990 fullweight turbo hardtop weighs 3530 without me in it. And thats with 2 10 inch subs in the hatch. If I were to strip the interior from the front seats back, get rid of the subs, swap out the front...
As I don't have a factory turbo setup, I don't know how the oil cooler lines are ran.. But could they be leaking onto the intercooler? That or the power steering cooler?
There is no banjo bolt on the turbo return, that's the feed. And that would not cause the oil on the intercooler lol
What you're feeling is a placebo effect.
Brought to you by my incredible MS paint skills....
Edit: Thinking about it.. I think the arrows should have gone in the same direction.. Not opposites. But thats irrelevant.
I have to say, you have one of the smoothest sounding 7Ms I have ever heard.. By that I mean like no valve tick at all..
When my clutch release hub failed, I just had a sort of metallic rattling, not the clanking like you have. Also, the clutch wouldn't disengage, so obviously no shifting into...
Lol.. I can tell the difference between a JZ and a 7M by looking at the bottom end though. :p

Is this on a 7M or 1J? If its a 1J, the internals of the head look almost identical to a 7M

If you're seeing 100psi on cold starts un shim your pump a little bit. I shimmed mine ~4mm and the relief valve is at ~80 psi. Personally, I would definitely jump for the ARZ hard pipe. I'm thinking of redoing my turbo drain in a -10 hard pipe.. I've heard the rubber in the soft lines just cant...
