All loaded up and ready to head out after work :) Had some time last night to hit the paint with some Mother's cleaner/oxidation remover and she's a little less pink...
Damn Tx2k and pre-event issues, seems to happen to everyone...
Definitely check all of your pulleys, i've had a dampner come apart on me that started as a minor noise similar to what you describe. Not sure what else to suggest, stethoscope should help also. Hope to see you out there!
Guessing everyone is crankin away on their Supras for 2k10 :) She's all back together and so far so good. Still not sure what happened with the hose but I went ahead and made a completely new one and strapped it down in a few more places. Still makes me nervous, been drivin with the...
Lookin good! Not sure what type of hose you're planning on using, but keep an eye on the push lock stuff if you use it. Still not exactly sure what happened but I had a hose blow off last week and fortunately shut it down before I lost my motor. Summit is sending a new fitting today that I...
Looks like I might be ok, had to add like 3qts but after some cranking with the coils unplugged pressure came up and there was no apparent knocking when I fired it up. Only thing I can think is that something got clogged in the oil cooler that caused a huge pressure spike (hose/fittings are...
Shox.com came through and drop shipped my Koni's for free and I got them today.
Unfortunately Summit's pushlok fittings did not come through:
For some reason one of the hoses on my oil cooler popped off and started spewing oil at lunch today, hopefully I noticed soon enough but I'm fearing...
Lookin good! Guess I better start prepping for paint when I get back from 2k10 :)
Won't be around this weekend, but I can lend a hand with whatever weekend after 2k10 if ya need it!
Weird, posted an update last night and it disappeared...
Got everything back together last night, had to slot the holes in the trans mount to make it fit, if I had paid more than $13 for it I would have been pissed :) Also decided to just put a new seal in my diff and call it good for now...
I'm headed out Wednesday after work, not sure what time but probably between 3 and 4 to try and beat traffic if I can manage to get up and go I'm early :)
Did a lot of reading today and it looks like the SST is the only way to do it without disassembling the diff. I ended up just putting a new seal in and resetting the preload. It took a little more torquing to get it right so I think it wasn't preloaded enough and I should be ok reusing the...
Wrenched for about 5hrs tonight after work and hit a couple of roadblocks. Got the rear struts I borrowed from Jon installed and my busted rear wheel stud replaced but I'm stuck on trying to get the front pinion bearing out without the SST. If anybody has any ideas on how I could get it out...
Started disassembly of my diff to replace the crush sleeve with a solid spacer and hopefully get rid of the driveline play but I don't have the SST to remove the front pinion bearing or crush sleeve.
Anyone find a solution other than the SST to get the bearing out? Tx2k10 is looming and I...
Shox.com may have f'd me on this one, when I ordered they said getting the struts to me by next weekend shouldn't be a problem and now they're saying they should be able to get them to me by the 17th, which is the night before I leave for 2k10... I did borrow Jon's stock rears as a backup plan...
Suspension debate is over, picked up some Koni yellows from shox.com for $380 shipped :) Figured they'd be a nice balance between the Tokicos and $$ coilovers and couldn't beat the price...
