I did it by just undoing the 2 nuts per mount, but it involved an engine hoist, a pry bar, and a moderate amount of swearing lol. Also, on the pre89 cars, it's not a cast a aluminum mount bracket. It's a welded steel bracket.

I've found through much experimenting that 225/50R16 is the best tire size for the OEM 16" wheels. Too wide or too much sidewall, and the handling gets sloppy. 225/50 with good tires handles like a dream, just doesn't hold up too well to 400 some odd whp. Like, spool and sideways until 3rd gear...
Thanks guys! There's nothing like pictures of other peoples' engine bays to get me motivated to put mine back together! Tanya, I think you have the cleanest 6M(?) in existance.

I need to repaint my engine bay. I've bought myself a bunch of semi-flat black rustoleum at a great price, and I'm getting ready to paint it. Before I do it, though, I was hoping that I could get a few pictures of black engine bays to make sure that I won't regret it.
Attached is my...
This is definitely a letdown. This was going to be my first year making it to Vegas. :(
If somebody wants to arrange a rogue event I'm more than willing to pay an entry fee if it gets us a parking lot, some drags and a few dyno pulls.

Yes, I quoted myself, because I still feel that a nice solid rebuild is the best way to go. It's getting hard to find a good used 7M. N/A-T setups are also not very difficult, especially if you drop the compression a bit with a thicker headgasket and run GTE electronics. Depending on your power...
I've loved all me 7M-GE cars. They are great to drive, smooth, and decently reliable. But, yes, they are slow. I'm actually in the middle of doing a build on my 86.5 in my sig, but I'm going with forged internals because I plan on putting a turbo on it down the road.
I'd say just do a solid...
I lowered my 91T this way. Just be careful and make sure that the spring is unloaded before putting your fingers anywhere near it. It saved me lots of time, and, like you said, I didn't have to mess with an annoying coil spring compressor.

Yup, one 2JZ (same style as 89+), one 91 7M-GTE, and one 87 7M-GE. In the next week or so I'll be pulling the GE out of my 86.5. I'm betting it happens again. lol
