I have been rebuilding the front subframe and now putting it all back together.
I cant remember if the tab on the strut that attaches to the brake line faces outward or inward?
Also any tricks to lining up the tems tab on the top of the strut?
Thanks for your help!
Steve
Can someone point me in the correct direction here-
I am trying to find a english TSRM that would cover the 2jzgte-VVTI.
I think(?) the engine did not come in any USDM cars, so that makes this difficult.
I have searched and have read thru many many threads before asking
Thanks
Steve
Thanks for your input! I appreciate it
Brad- Exactly - I can easily reach my power goals with a stock ( mostly) engine. I should have a reliable engine.
Jose - I think I need to call you guys!
Do you know where I can download an english TSRM that covers the 2jzgte vvti?
Thanks for your input te72
I want this car to be fun to drive - For me that is a ballance of power, handling, comfort and reliability.
from the perspective of the engine - 400 crank HP would be nice, quick spool, more interested in bottom end power than high rpm hp.
While I look forward...
I would really like to swap a 2jzgte vvti into my 92 supra, I understand what it will take to perform the actual swap, the question really is-
How available are parts both from a stock and performance point of view. - I obviously have looked and do see ECU's, CAMS,
I plan on doing all the...
Thank you, found the entry points in the lower control arms with the wheels off-
Next question - Can I leave the driveshaft bolted in? What I mean is attached to the center support bearing and the Diff? of do I need to take the center bearing down to pull the engine? Last time I removed the...
Any guidance here would be greatly appreciated.
I am trying to get the 7mgte out, and I am at the poiint of removing the engine mounts! So close
What is the best way to unbolt the engine mounts? It looks like from underside from the wheel well, does that sound right? They are the 89+ round...
When my head gasket started to go (7mgte) there would only be puffs of smoke when boosting. What I found out is at the very begging of the HG going it still holds fine while cold and only when boost put on would it leak. That is why a compression test is not 100% to diagnose a blown HG. I think...
I think I read in your build thread that you had replaced the cams. The other cams had rust on them. Anyway this is connected? Something like a stuck valve in #3 and #6 or something happend during the cam replacement?
Jut throwing it out there- I could be way off.
Quick question-
Did you retain the JDM components? Turbos, injectors, cams?
Thanks
Steve
BTW - great thread, any additional pics of the firewall adjustment would be appreciated
my opinion-
You only ground one end - the ECU end.
I forget where I grounded the wire to, but I do know the first time I attachede it I did not get a good ground and ended up running the wire to a known good ground( checked it with an ohm meter)
