sup guys, i searched all over the forum for a diagram on how the pipes are supposed to be installed to make the job easier, but i cant find anything in the article section.. are there any diagrams on this site?
WOW nice build! you really inspired me and i love what you did with the clear lights up front. im almost done with my gte swap and im wondering how did you get the accerator cable down right??
alright to all my GE to GTE swap guys and anyone else, how did you guys hookup your throttle cable? and speed actuator cable? i have an engine with a bent bracket for the cables and i'm a little unsure about how i'll go about doing this. if you have any ideas or pictures on how i should do this...
damn alright, i'll have to check that out then.. i dont have much cash so i'll go the cheaper route. i have more questions but im not with the car now so i'll have to get back later
ohh, i'd have to look at the car because i'm installing an intercooler this weekend. like i said the body of the supra is GE, so would it have an oil cooler?? or do i even need one??
hey guys im almost done with my first swap GE to GTE and im a little unsure about a few oil lines that werent on the GE motor. theres a line coming from the oil pan and another close to the oil filter both on the left side of the engine. i have no clue what theyre used for and where they hook up...
oh ok sweet! i need to chack where this thing mounts, i called toyota and they seem unsure about having the pipes. i'll have to keep looking. i still need to hookup the accelerator cable and downpipe. so if you have any input on the cable that'd be great. thanks man
whatsup guys i've gotta 87 supra im swapping GE to GTE. first swap ever, im stoked i'm so close! but i have a couple questions about the intercooler. since i have a GE body will i have to custom mount the IC soewhere up front? and what pipes did most of you use for your intake/intercooler? hard...
yehh im going with the stock GE clutch, i plan on getting the motor in by tomorrow. when i want more power im going to have to get the r154 but yeh haha im not goin easy on her either man
ohh okay i gotchya guys. i'll hold onto that SPEC clutch for the future when i get money for mods i will get that R154, but for now i just want it started and running smoothly. so the stock GE flywheel and clutch should work on the swap with no problems right??
whatsup guys im in the middle of swapping in my used 7MGTE and im going to be using the GE tranny, so i got a aftermarket spec clutch and GTE flywheel all ready to go.. and now im stuck. i cannot get the old release bearing off the hub so i can install the new bigger bearing for the clutch. i've...
ok i get that. but why would the threads and dowel pins not be in the same pattern as the clutch pressure plate?? could the company have sent me the wrong clutch kit? which i doubt because the reciept says 87-92 supra. im going to keep playing around with it see if i can get it on..
i recently bought a Spec clutch kit for my engine swap (GE to GTE). right now i just assembled the Spec friction disc and i go to put the pressure plate on the GE flywheel dowel pins and the threads on the flywheel dont line up, whichever way i put the pressure plate same problem. so im...
since we're on the topic of clutches.. how did you guys install that pilot bearing in place?! i dont have that special tool people recommend i use. so i'd like to know how the hell some of you guys did it??
