Beautiful info. If you don’t mind upping the pics, that would be great. I didn’t know half of the stuff you mentioned were required, so again, thanks for the heads up.
So if all is well with the injectors and they are compatible, are they worth investing in? Do they have any bad reputations...
Before i ask my question, i tried doing a search because i know i have seen this topic discussed here before, but i am on page six in the search engine, and less i overlooked it, i can’t see anything.
I know someone who is selling 6 550 Hi Impedance injectors(TII) for 160. Now, my question...
How come this isn’t the best way to do it? Am i hurting my system in any way? I didn’t know there would be any draw backs from doing this (aside from no heat), and i don’t like knowing i could be harming the system.
Thanks.
OK this is going to be extremely non technical as im not too sure if i know name for the item i am about to speak about. My heater core is done, and leaks very badly. So, under the hood there is what I believe is a bypass valve, just near where the charcoal canister is. What i did was remove...
So I took my 89 turbo supra to the dyno (mustang dyno) today for the first time. I’m pretty pleased with the results.
under the hood my mod’s are full three inch exhaust from the elbow back, with no cat, intake, and a MBC. I am running with the LSD 4.3 Diff.
I don’t know how...
"might put a rod through the block or just ruin the crank."
What if it already did? would the car still start and idle? any way of knowing without tearing her down?
Thanks guys for the input.
so it's sounding like a rod knock huh. I always read here that when you get one, you'll know. LMAo. its hard not to hear it.
is there any possibility the damage inside is beyond repair? I have no problem investing to get this motor rebuilt properly, but can a bad rod knock lead to damage thats...
Ok guys. I have what I believe is the dreaded rod knock. I have watched other member’s videos posted with their rod knocks and my sound is very similar to theirs.
I am not the greatest engine expert, but a rod knock is from the lower end of the car yet the sound is (well at least to me)...
It's only 1 hr - 6 hrs, if you are mechanically inclined (hell i ll even say if you know BASICS). For the rest of the world, a mechanic might be needed. Not everyone who owns a supra = Mechanic. And swapping a clutch is not something i recommend doing on your own if you know little to nothing...
"Show me a guy who puts a gasket (even an OEM gasket) back on with unprepped surfaces and I'll show you a guy who is going to do it again shortly."
Well Said.
Less you know what you are doing, take it to a shop. And i can't stress on the word "know".

"he setup i was running was a one of a kind turbo setup. it was made by ron ramirez. it's a hand made stainless steel manifold, and a 76mm dual ball bearing turbo. but i have since sold it, since it was costing me too much money to keep the car up. driving everywhere on 100octane minimum on...
there's no point in reving higher if your not going to be able to make more power. part of being able to rev higher and still keep making power is the cams. ( If i'm wrong guys please correct me).

Ok when you remove the glove box, directly above it is a black cover (very thin), the Ecu lies behind that , once that is removed all will be exposed and if you still can't see the ecu, there is a problem.
Peace..........
