You should be able to run 275 with that offset on the rear. I'm not a fan of higher than 235 width on the from. Best tire width for front IMO is 225. A 10" rim isn't much fun on roads but it depends on what your plans are and what rubber you want to run. You could rub on a full turn depending on tire width. My opinion, I'm far from being a tire expert on our cars... Lol

You should try 18x9.5 +22 all around with 275/35's all around. I guarantee you'll change your mind.

Agreed. When i had 265 front it was lovely. except when i rubbed my fender. stretched 255 likes to slide a little. 275 would be awesome with something wider in the back.

With my current wheels (8" front) I find I stand on the road dips. You can feel it in the steering... with a 275? Didn't even think you could fit that on the car and still turn.. lol.

I've ran 275/35 all around on 18x9.5 +35. Also on 18x9.5 +22. I went from 235's on a 8 inch wheel to the 275's. It makes a world of difference. I personally like square setups better than staggered, but was limited by current wheel options.

Mine are 18 x 9.5 with 255's, +38 offset. (Rears) they fit fine. I'm just thinking your width would tuck them in nicely. Tucked in too far is relative to the viewer..

Are you planning to go 235 tires?

yup planing 235s back and will prob stick to 225's front. ive heard 245 is MAX you could put on 7,5J

what would be best high for good look and ride quality?

708 won't like the 7.5's. orur cars need at least a 9.5 +38 to look good in the rear. i suggest at least 8.5's up front. the sizes you posted will be sunken in way too much.

Well I ended up picking up spare TT wheels to replace the front wheel that was cracked however it appears the wheels I got were the rear wheels 9.5in.

Can I fit this on the front of the MK3 with 245/40/17?

Might be a little tight. I have the mk4 TT wheels on my car and the offsets are veryyyyyy low. My front's (8" wide 235-45-17) come really close to rubbing on the inside at full lock so the 9.5 might be pushing it. A small spacer might fix the problem (if there is any)

Yeah i got mixed up. My bad :3d_frown: Yes the offsets are high. But while on the topic of mk4 wheels (sorry if this isn't totally relevant to the tread) Anyone using a decent sized drag tire on the 17x9.5 rears? Anything bigger than the 275-40-17?

Im looking at setting up my car with Nittos (not a drag radial but should grab for street) with a 17x10 on rear and 18x8.5 on front. Keep me level but allow for more sidewall. Just gotta find the right wheel and offset for my MK3.

Generally I want stock final wheel height (or close to) so the speedo isn't too far off, with equal height front and back. I want the 17's on back to give me some sidewall, the 18's are too stiff. Having a grabby tire but no sidewall for hook isn't good when you go above 400 and once I up my boost past 14 psi, my current wheels break free in third.

I want to run 245's up front and 275-295 on the rear.

Basically the following image is where my brain is at... I am not sure if this will fit ("?" is the one I want to shoot for). The offset confuses me because I see some people saying 20.. and to me.. that would have to be rolled/pulled. Not sure how far I can go before I start encroaching on my suspension... and.. like I said.. don't really want to roll/pull the quarters.

unfortunatly the car is still in build stage so i havn't driven it in its current state yet, But i would say no because when it was towed to it new garrage a while back it was getting bad guard rubbage in the rear. I'll be cutting about 3" out of the rear guards when its set up properly.

I've ran .9" closer to suspension on 275/35-18x9.5 +35.

I'm currently on 255/35-18x9.5 +12 up front and its 1.6" closer to fender.
Rears are 265/35-18x10.5 +22 and 1.6" closer to fender as well.

I'm planning on going 275 or 285 in the rear because I still have room. My fenders are only rolled. I think I might need a pull in the front, by nothing major. Try plugging in some of the other wheels people posted up and see the limit on what you can run. I've posted the max I've ran. Hope it helps.
