And heres a little interior piece that needed attention. The A pillar trims are both scratched up and resemble the previous dash more than anything.

I've already bought a good condition passenger side, however, no luck with the driver. Decided to opt for a Lotek A pillar dual gauge pod. The dual is my choice due to the handle, I don't want to lose it.

Thanks, it was an eyesore.

Thanks hybrid. I love the MKIII supra for what it is, always wanted to own a nice clean one. Too many are distastefully modded or beat to hell.

Parts availability sure sucks, boy what I'd do for some new targa trims...

You certainly will have a clean one when yours is done. Which targa trims are you looking for? Vinyl wrapping would do wonders for the ones behind the front windows if that's what you're looking for. The ones on the actual targa I'm not to sure about.

FINALLY :D I found a set of trims! I bought the whole targa with trims and a headliner, being shipped as we speak. Add those with the new targa seals I have waiting, this car will be right again! Going to have to shell out a lot of dough to get the original top paint matched, but the end result will be worth it. The rear bumper and LHD folding mirrors will get done then, as well.

No more cheap body shops - I work for an MBZ dealer with a huge bodyshop, which once painted half of my 99 4Runner and made a great match with Imperial Jade Mica. I know I can trust them to do it properly.

They're also going to be the ones to paint my 94 TT, but that car will likely be painted a Mercedes-Benz color to make ease of paint availability (currently thinking Polar White).

Also on their way are a full set of 4 Tokico Illumina II's to go with the Eibach springs. Currently debating over spending the extra cash on a set of JDM dark tails... opinions?

Dark tails look great, do it :)

I have read that the center lens is removable via a few clips, so I will likely just move the center lens to my existing center piece. Don't want to lose the white center trim, or add another piece to the "repaint list." Did I get the right information?

If there's a difference in backing color, I can always match it and paint it before reassembly.

So did you actually buy JDM tail lights or are those the stock ones with the reflector removed? They look great, I really want them on mine, but it's more of a hassle on the pre89's than the 89+'s.

Dark red looks so much better

Glad sticker arrived to, damn that was quick.

Yeah, AUS to US wasn't too bad of a wait at all.

I bought JDM tails, and just switched the center lens over to the original center piece. It's totally worth it, but understandable in your case

Pulled the hood off the roof, where it's been for months. The targa top had been molested in the recent past (I'M SORRY TOP, I DIDN'T MEAN TO) and is going back to it's old self...

:D

Bought this targa, complete with headliner and trims. The off color headliner was a terrible reminder - improper shades everywhere :(

Switched EVERYTHING over. The headliner, the trims, the seals (still have new ones in the package, too), even the covers for the rear mounts.

The cars farthest journey since January, out of the garage into the driveway. Extra height clearance for the engine hoist was necessary. The 7M-GTE dropped right in without hassle.

Shafts disassembled via press, this is the first time someone has been inside of this transmission. Clean but there is evidence of some bad grinding on the 3rd gear and the corresponding shift sleeve.

It wouldn't be a transmission rebuild without backtracking and fixing mistakes, there are quite a lot of little details to keep track of. The slider for reverse went on backwards once, the detents for the synchro hubs were switched, and a bunch of other little things. It is now properly done and working as it should.

The 3rd gear would have been ideal to replace, unfortunately it was discontinued. Now the teeth have been sharpened with a sander to at least eliminate the majority of the dullness. The two sleeves I needed were in stock, that's 50% of the fix there alone.

Shift forks and shafts. Petroleum jelly holds the detent balls in place. Without it, this would have been a royal pain.

Pulled tank to discover a rusty corroded mess... drained 10 gallons of putrid rotten fuel, estimated 10 years old. I got to thinking of ideas for cleanup and attempted to use apple cider vinegar.

The vinegar was not working up to my hopes, and it was difficult to reach nooks and crannies inside the tank with the pressure washer. Instead opted to find a used tank. This is how it looked upon first inspection... little cleaning required!
