MMMhhhhhh...... That's my Set-up lol.. except I am full weight.. I am not destroying my MKIII to be lighter...

I spool pretty fast...

YES sir... E-85 def helps a ton...

Not destroyed lightened....Racing seats, lexan hatch glass, no rear seats, no a/c. I am not a fan of butchering the car for weight unless your say road-racing or bracket racing, something where its a necessity.

Actually, the 1J has a much larger hill to climb than you would think. The challenge isn't the engine itself, it's the production numbers. The 2J came stock in a LOT of vehicles, and was in production for a LONG period of time, in cars sold all over the world. There's a lot more of them out there to play with. The 1J was only available in RHD countries, over a very short period.

Anyone developing an aftermarket piece for an engine has (well, should, anyway) to consider the market. Why put thousands of dollars into research and development into a part for the 1J? The same dollars into a 2J part will net you literally 100x the profit. If you can design it to work for both, fine, but even then it's not worthwhile putting much effort into that.

I'll agree in regards to the U.S., but on a worldwide scale the 1JZGTE was produced in more chassis for a longer period of time.. The 2JZGTE was only available in 3 chassis/2 models in its lifetime, the JZS147/JZS161 Aristo 93-05 (Japan only) and JZA80 Supra Turbo 93-02 (93-98 U.S.). The 1J was available in seven different chassis and seven different models (including the variations like wagons), none of which made it to the U.S.: JZX81/JZX90/JZX100/JZX110 (Cresta, Mark II, Chaser, Verossa), JZA70 Supra Turbo, JZZ30 Soarer GT, and JZS170 Crown, years '90-'03.

They have huge 1JZ meets in other countries (Brazil and Japan come to mind) that are far larger than anything 2JZ meet related (if there is such a thing—I haven't seen it).

Arizona will have a few over 600 by the end of summer.
What's taken all you guys so long? :p

hopefully one in utah will be over 6 before winter :D hehe
...and hopefully Wyoming as well. ;)

Well, that's the plan anyway. Stupid mortgage gets kinda in the way of making the car faster. If I hadn't bought the house, I'd be quite done by now. Except then I'd still be parking outside, no thanks.

I'll be converting to e85 before I go for anything above ~500.. we have it at a local station, and it's getting more widespread across FL.

I'm kinda happy with what mine is doing at the moment. I need bigger injectors for anything more lol, my 880s are maxxed out!
Shooting for 700s late this year, or next summer..

We want them all to finish at the same time, besides its not the end of summer, unlike you guys who have no summer or that its severly short :p...
Yeah, I get about 4-5 months of good weather, we call it springsummerfall here. It is basically the season where snow is *unlikely* to happen. :p

Same here, but I'm not terribly far away, so... for me it's a game of "how much power can you actually lay down" with my car.

We have come a long way in the technology where turbos and injectors are concerned. I am sure we can have a 1JZ hit those numbers now. Albert is making his way there slowly with all the CT26 orders.

Everyone here has given me so much hope. I will shoot for as high as I can without touching the bottom of the engine.

About 600 from what Ive heard. Rod bolts, and main bolts are the weak point, might want to look into ARP before aiming for much more

Yeah, they don't even break a sweat at 700whp...

There's a few guys in Orlando that have been making 600 for years on stock, higher mileage bottom ends lol.
