I started going through the box of old tranny parts and ran across this. This is the 1 to 2 shift fork that got replaced with the MC 7071 Billet Upgrade.

And, I finished up with the alternator. She's now flat black and sporting an OBX Pulley.

I really like how this turned out!

Looks good Kenny, like the pulley also. Can you polish the rear cover on the alternator?

Ya know...for some reason the pictures show it worse that it really is. I had only considered doing it; but, now that you've pointed it out.....I'm going to do it!

Thanks for the sharp eye Fred! :)

Thanks Matt! The car will look very different at Centralia this year compared to how it looked last year. I can't believe that's only ~4 months away already!!!

Yes. The rib diameter of stock is 2.11" (53.6mm) and the OBX rib diameter is 2.33" (59.2mm).

Do you think it'll slow the alternator down enough to be a problem?

I'm hoping by the weekend at the latest! :)

I'm supposed to pick up my Fidanza today. It's been getting checked for warpage. Hopefully I can just slap my new insert in and go!

That's what I was thinking. If it does prove to be a problem, it's easy enough to put the stock one back on.

Thanks Blake. I'm digging that flat black too. I might even stop polishing my valve covers and just shoot them flat too!

Alright... A new part arrived today. The coolant bypass hose for oil only turbos. This piece came from Driftmotion.

After seeing how close this was going to ride next to the exhaust manifold, I decided to go ahead and remove the turbo and reinstall the heat shield. It's not pretty; but, it should help save the life of that new hose! :)

While I had the turbo off, I decided to take a little turbo comparison pic. Aren't they a nice little family... :biglaugh:

Polishing the covers is a pita to keep em that way. Smoke metallic grey on my covers, after seeing yours I'm shooting for redoing a lot of parts in the smoke paint, eventually a set of wheels the same color.

I've seen the flat black valve covers and really like the look. I'll think it'll look very tasteful in your engine bay Kenny. Do it! :icon_bigg
