Ok i'm finally updating this thread because i believe everything will work out at the end. Here's what i have so far. I'm not a professional so things won't be pretty....at least for now.

I had an extra motor laying around so i decided to see if it fit.

Cleaning up bay and test fitting half rad, (i know it MIGHT not be enough to cool it but we shall see) had to notch the frame but everything will get some support welded on.

Another test fit with modified gte manifold and yes that's a turbo...

Haven't decided on what rear will go in and what suspension i will use. I will be fabbing up some motor and tranny mounts next. Once that's done i will be removing everything and pulling the body from the frame. The project is on hold as i've been tinkering with the supra.

I realize the car will handle ****ty after this and will def. be heavier but i dont care, i want it to be able to cruise with it.

Ok still working on the intercooler piping...until i can find a good local tig welder i will use a bunch of couplers heh...very tight space so i think this is the only way to route the pipes...for now. Don't mind the tape as the radiator isn't mounted yet. Need it there to make sure nothing is in the way.

Very long way to go still....

Glad to see updates Emp. Hopefully that radiator will be enough to cool the thing off. When you're tripling (or more) the stock power... this could be fun. :p

thanks man...its been on hold for a while...back at it though. Tranny is mounted. Radiator is almost fully mounted, ordering fan soon...hoping 1200cfm will suffice.

Going to take everything apart this weekend to do some more welding. Should be able to have updates then.

NA, it *might* work. Boosted though? Unless you like boiling coolant, I'd say 1200cfm is going to be about as useful as blowing on it yourself. :nono:

Does that car have a solid rear axle?
Wouldn't surprise me, most cars of that era did, with a few exceptions. This was essentially the predecessor to the Fairlady Z, so I would guess that whatever was on the 240z, axle wise, was on this car.

Could very well be wrong though, it's been a long week. :p

yea its solid...still debating on my rear options. I found a 1500 CFM fan also...ugh this should be interesting...I know the radiator should work for a bit. Matt Small used the same radiator in a 2j miata swap...so im pretty sure its capable.

The car is so small and light you could get away with an 8.8 rear. People damn near give those away.

There's a guy here in town with an fb RX7 running high 9's with an 8.8 out of an Explorer. And constantly lauches the piss out of it. It's works, it's cheap.

Sorry, he runs low 10's. But still, it's been holding for years.

yea i was thinking about the 8.8, i'd like to keep a 4 lug pattern too, so that id take into consideration.

i had to flip the car around....here is how it looks with the wheels and i was able to fit the grill back on. I'll try to snap more pics soon.

Don Julio.... nice choice...

a buddy of mine worked for a local autobody shop for a while and there was a 2000 there for a while, the sr20det fit like it was supposed to be there, stought 5-speed too..

but a straight 6 is a different animal all together, you shouldn't have to ring it out to have a good time....

will this be getting a full bodyjob treatment after all the modification/mock up?

it will get the body taken off the frame and blasted after all the mechanical crap is dealt with.
