Probably fine. You'll know pretty quick if you damage internals.

Unless he is running coil packs then the ge only has one coil. Sounds like a wiring issue or an ecu fault. Check the wiring for the injectors very carefully and try swapping to a known good ecu.

Did any of your plugs look fouled or particularly worn when you took them out? If it's intermittent it might be a grounding issue. Try cleaning all your grounds, especially the ones on the head. Might also try this...

A timing light is a basic tool every DIY mechanic should own. You are going to need it.

Check the wiring harness where it goes behind the engine. It can sometimes come loose and land on the egr cooler, causing a short. Happened to me on the freeway years ago, the plastic clip just broke off.

Depending on how the FG parts for my Z come out I might start making some for the Supra. That will be down the road, however.

That is 100% a matter of preference. I LOVED my NA. Sure it didn't make as much power as a turbo but it was still a hell of a lot of fun.

I parted out my NA, the smog man got me. We successfully modded three different supras with the parts off of that car lol.

Disconnect all the water lines and wires under the intake manifold? It's easy to miss one.

Buick built the thermostat into the waterneck on the Lacrosse. Changing the thermostat is now a 2-hour job and the thermostat costs $90.
