Double stack refers to how many rounds the magazine carries. A 1911 carries seven rounds of .45acp in the magazine, but a double stack 1911 carries 14 rounds in the magazine. Thus, the grip will become much larger and fill the hand. Basically, any firearm magazine that doesn't carry its rounds...
