Sorry guys, the Supra has had to be put on the back burner with a plethora of other 'life events' taking place. The clutch is fully installed, along with the bracket I described above. I forget if I took any pictures of it before install, but I'm real happy with how it turned out. Unfortunately...
To anyone who is currently using, or plans to use, a Clutch Masters FX850 twin disc clutch on their 7M/R154, or any other Clutch Masters unit using the same push-type slave cylinder/release bearing assembly, you are or will become familiar with the lack of a retaining pin/stud to keep the slave...
Bumping this thread to request/add additional information appropriate to the thread title.
Which year (range) throttle body uses the horizontally opposed "metal butterfly" vs. which year (range) uses the vertically opposed "metal butterfly"?
Also, which color (part number label) and part...
Thanks for the confirmation on the pulsation. Has anyone else out there with a 7M experienced the same pulsation/knocking after removing their Fuel Damper and installing the bypass kit from Driftmotion?
As for the pressure changes, I've tried two different AFPRs with two different gauges with...
I apologize for taking so long to follow up on the thread; life has been very hectic as of late and I hadn't worked on the car in over a month.
This past weekend I went back out to do a little bit of maintenance and found that the car would not start. Long story short, it was due to corroded...
Thank you for the compliments! I don't honestly know if it was dealer installed, or installed by a previous owner; but I do know that it was not factory installed because the car also has the wingless third brake light inside the hatch. Also, the spoiler install was done somewhat poorly. Looks...
Update:
Ok, so after some further investigation/driving of the vehicle, I've found that it the range where it breaks up varies due to a much greater issue that has just been discovered: fuel pressure will NOT stay set where I have set it with the AFPR. I have found that if I adjust the fuel...
Could always switch to E85 or use methanol injection in lieu of no intercooler. I don't see why that would have an issue at only 5psi of boost. Then again it sounds like the engine you were going to use is no longer available anyway, so this is all a moot discussion. Until next time!
Transfered from my previous thread (separating them since this is a different issue and the previous two were resolved):
Hrmm... I hate to do that, but I believe I still have a dampener so if some of my further diagnostics don't sort it out then I'll go ahead and try it.
Do you think that...
Hrmm... I hate to do that, but I believe I still have a dampener so if some of my further diagnostics don't sort it out then I'll go ahead and try it.
Do you think that such a harmonic would be seen via a fuel pressure gauge? Perhaps a fluttering of the needle because of the pulses being...
Devin, did you ever determine the root cause of this problem? I believe my 7MGTE powered car is having a very similar issue. Details can be found here:

This miss is completely gone. The only issues I am now having with the car are break-up directly at 3500 rpm, regardless of throttle/load/boost, and a very low idle.
Pretty simple. I've swapped between the 2JZ COP and stock coil setup twice now. The car has run the same with both setups.
Quick update:
The break up I had been experiencing at 3500 RPM was under very light load and light throttle (~25-35%). Against my better judgement, I decided to try...
