You can't tell. Dyno measures output at WOT. For max efficiency you shouldn't be into the throttle very much. Engine mapping varies considerably with throttle.

Stefan, what all does your aftermarket exhaust include. First mod in my book is a 3" downpipe followed by a 3" catback. Also, how much boost are you running? If you already have the full 3" and are running 12 PSI, I'd suggest intercooler hard pipes and see where that leaves you.

I've never heard of anything that extreme. I was running 9.7:1 on stock boost. No problems. When my car's back together I'm gonna shoot for 9.4:1 and 12 psi. There's a few people that have 9:1 pistons or GE shortblocks that run significant boost.

I don't know how much power it takes to turn the compressor, but I'd guess in the 10HP region. You could probably get most of that back just by supercooling the intake charge. The real benefit, however, would be the extra boost this would allow you to run. Control would be fairly easy...

Reduced combustion temperature is an added benefit of EGR. The primary benefit is the reduction of NOx emmissions. The 7M was designed to operate with or without EGR, so it's not going to ping if you take it off.
