    New part idea

Garrett is working on something that I wouldn't mind having. They are basically turbos with generators on the shaft. Battery power is used to help spool the turbo, then power is bled off to the battery in leiu of a wastegate.

    Alternative 5-speed?

Or you could get one off ebay for $375. My synchros are hating me, may be time to take the plunge.

    PICS of ur rims??

That car is hot. Are your side skirts stock?

    PICS of ur rims??

I with ya buddy except I like the horsey center caps. These are off a 35th anniversary with spring addition centers. Diamond cut aluminum can be pretty shiney. Wheels are 17x8 and weigh 22lbs. Tough to beat for $300.

    Alternative 5-speed?

Your existing clutch housing and flywheel + any GM clutch disk.

    Alternative 5-speed?

We never figured out for sure if it would work, but there was a bit of discussion about it. My big draw to the trans is the triple cone synchros. We can't say if it will handle the power, that's where the discussion stopped: "someone try it and report back". Aisin doesn't rate them for...

    Here's a chanllenge: Hybrid Supra

Were those wheel hub motors, or just regular motors that were coupled to the wheels somehow? GM claims they have wheel hub motors that put out 20 kW and weigh < 15 lbs. I wouldn't mind a set of those.

    MK3 suspension guide

Mike, I'm installing the same setup. I haven't looked into, but there was a post on SF about Bilsteins being designed to work with 89+ shock mounts. Someone said that the ride smoothened out after installing these.

    Can She handle it?

I don't know what you guys are talking about. Between the Supra, my WRX, and my Mazda; the Supra has the best clutch feel of them all.

    dual Power seats?

Eh, it'd be about a 40 lb difference. Depends on who's sitting next to you, I guess.

    Can She handle it?

Yeah, I kinda agree with Dan. I've never turned anyone down on a lesson. Ya know, to further the cause of the manual trans. I figure the more manual drivers out there, the more used cars I can buy from them :) Anyway, I've given several lessons to several people on several cars. It's not...

    Bonding Plastic to Plastic

I can relate to GOT BOOST. I broke the nipple for the radiator overflow. Damned if I'm buying a new radiator for a stupid nipple. I tried super glue and epoxy, but neither worked. I suppose because of the heat. I wound up filing down my stump just enough to get a hose clamp on. If...

    Bonding Plastic to Plastic

Or a good 2 part epoxy.

    Help Vibration in Stick

Sounds like the wrong driveshaft fubar'd the output shaft. This would make sense if it was little shorter or the splines were different.

    Here's a chanllenge: Hybrid Supra

Thanks for the link supraaddict87. I'd be interested in more links like this. Anomili, what do you consider a classical hybrid? What's wrong with making a hybrid of a heavy car? Look at the Lexus RX330h. It weighs more the than the supra and has similar power. Ditto for the Accord...

    Here's a chanllenge: Hybrid Supra

We have some bright people here, I bet we could pull this off. Let's talk about feasibility. I think the biggest hurdle would be finding an affordable battery pack (can't get them at the junkyard). A starter/generator shouldn't be a problem. I think I could fake a controller. Who's in...

    Help Vibration in Stick

Not necessarily, because the output shaft is subject to the gear ratios. It spins at the same speed as the driveshaft.

    Help Vibration in Stick

Oh, we're dealing with a Frankencar... Everything you stated so far points to something in the trans. Your speedo doesn't happen to be jumpy does it? Strongly recommend pulling out the driveshaft and turning the output shaft over by hand. Yep, the thing that the front part the driveshaft...

cylinder head porting theories... and such

Absolutely not. Increasing the head flow is documented and proven. A good port job can improve flow. What HASN'T been proven is that extra head flow is necessary. A stock intake will flow 400 cfm. A stock head will flow over 1000 CFM. The head will be the last bottleneck in your system...
