ok no sand paper
looking for gasket remover
is there anything i can coat the cylinder walls with to protect them???
this is the first time ive attempted this major a job on my car
so thanks everyone for putting up with my noobish questions and lack of knowledge
ok so im soaking the surface of the block with degreaser and scrubbing the piston heads clean
would it be a good idea to take a bit of sand paper to the block surface to get the gasket remains off it?
yea the block is staying in i cant pull it right now
but you say i can just clean it with degreaser
so i should i just bring each piston up to the top and clean it then set everything back to tdc ?
thanks
i finally got the head off
its really suprising the head gasket doesnt look blown
im kinda perplexed
oh and before i forget all of the pistons and valves are all encrusted with some chared substance
how do i get this stuff off safely ???
heres what the block looks like and most of the...
ok so i got a torx that is equivelent to an 11mm hex im banging that in to the bolt head its taking forever tho
i just orderd a set of arp bolts so once this last bolt comes out i wont have this problem again
hey i finally went ahead and got things ready for my hg replacement i loosend all the head bolts in order but when i got to number 10 it simply rounded itself out so all the other bolts came out but that one
my question is how can i get that damn bolt out
it is also torqued down to 72ft/lbs...
what an absolute life saver i just did this mod and got my brake lights back
i actually fried the board itself when i removed my third brake light (wingless)
+1 for a good fix
well im not super concerned with how it looks im just trying to figure out if it will work
i heard the corolla celica and the supra can mount up the same sterring wheels thats why im tryin to see if this will fit
hey everyone i was looking for a little clarity on this issue
first up
will a celica or corolla steering hub fit on the mk3
and if I'm doing more than daily driving like occasional weekend drifting
would this hub be a good or bad idea thanks...
lol
the other thing is that it only happens when the car is parked up on an angle where the drivers side is higher than the passenger
i dunno if that would make a difference.
im starting to wonder tho
i might just have to retorque the headbolts
the only symptom of a bhg that i have is the coolant reservoir boiling over
but there is no coolant in the oil and the car is not overheating at all
im just wondering at this point
i was lookin there and online but the prices seem to vary
ive found some for like 57 and ones all the way up to like 300 so im not sure whats actually going to be reliable
hey i just bought this steering wheel http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120414704049QQssPageNameZMERC_VIC_RSCC_Pr4_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT&refitem=370199068809&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=closed_view
