Compressor Turbine (Compressor Wheel)
The impeller which compresses the incoming air. The shape and volume of a compressor turbine...
there must be a way they rate the housing size, this thing is a monster nothing like any other .58 or any normal turbo for that matter! What would be the difference running this as a pose to running a normal .58 set up? Would I have more lag or more airflow? Theres gotta be somethin different in...
wait so .58 is not the compressor housing size?? So what number tells the compressor housing size then?? All the specs tell the hot and cold side and thats it. I would imagine the bigger housing makes a big difference, or is mine like a T66 and the other ones are like a T3 or T4??
Okay, I have this LARGE turbo that came off a big truck motor and its a garrett with a .58 cold side according to the stamp on it. I have been researching turbos for a few days now and have come to understand the bigger the number the bigger the turbo. But this turbo that I have is a real giant...
I dont quite understand and it seems that 80% of memebers on here dont full understand either. This is what I have gathered so far correct me if im wrong. A "T4 turbo" is a reference to the COLD side or housing that ranges from about .58 to .70 in size? There is also the exhaust side or HOT side...
yes, with 3 1/2 inch exhaust from turbo to just a muffler turned up I can get 21 PSI in 5th gear on my aftermarket boost guage on my stock CT 26 but I keep it down to about 16-18 because the IC cant cool it properly and I dont wanna run my turbo hotter then it should be
I have full 3 inch from turbo and MANY other mods but running stock cams and turbo and mine hits HARD at 3-5 but it looses power high up there in the RPM band so I shift early like 5 1/2 - 6. If I wento 7,500 my car would slow down alot
I run mine off, it showcases the turbo alot more. Never had any problems but overall im sure its a little better to keep it on but u cant tell me that =)
T4 TURBO - .60 a/r cold 1.05 HOT
I have a CT26 running 18.5 PSI now, (along with alot of other mods) im no turbo expert, how much of an upgrade would one of thoes be over a stock CT 26 w/bc as far as spooling time, airflow and max boost and HP? It comes as a kit with intercooler, wastegate...
