O really? I heard it's a little insurance to use a torque plate. I appreciate your input. Vallejo?? Hum... if it means the guy know his stuff and the turn around is quick... then the travel isn't bad. Can you supply me with a number or address?
First think I suspected was a vacuum or boost leak. But determining that my coolant problem wasn't solved, I figured its time for the OEM HG to be replaced. I'm sure I will be able to trace some leaks, but considering the age of vehicle, its that time. Wish me luck on a good OE build. I'm...
Hey any supra fanatics in the Sacramento area? I need to know a reputable machine shop that knows the 7mgte. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Especially with 7mgtes tight clearances on internals. I've called around a few shops in the area ( i just moved here 1 months ago) and many...
I think my headgasket went tonight. I can smell a faint sweet smell. THis happen when I was coming back from a 145 mile trip. On a normal 65-67 cruising speed, the car lost power. Pulling over to the side, the car dies. Starting was hard as I has to throttle the car to keep it alive. There...
Alright guys... thanks for the advices. I haven't got a sethoscope avalible, but will check into it sooner. I checked the crank and seems on tight and perfect condition. I'm still on the stock injectors. Funny thing is this happen after I did the oil change. WEIRD.... :aigo:LOL.
My...
Nope. Emission won't effect a car from starting. I would check timing, compression, leak down test... then go from there. I would expect the coolant temp sensor to the ecu or main rely. Usually these are the symptoms. anyone else please fill in.
Don't flame me but I'm doing my measurements of the stock gauge. I know its not as accurate, but at 3k the psi jumps up to wat I believe is 15-20 mark. Its hard to tell you all, but I think oil pressure is fine, but this knock seems right under the intake manifold. I thought 7mgte is a...
Ok I hope it's nothing serious, but my passed down supra ( from my dad) has been on conventional Castrol 10w30 as long as my dad had owned it. He rarely does oil changes on time. I just changed it out For Royal Purple and after starting it up... it idled and ran fine. After it reached its...
Trace your alternator wirings too. The wire might look good on the outside, but internally it could be toasted (literally :aigo:). I say fusable links first.
WOW... hum.. is it true that running thicker oil in a older motor (20w-50 or 10w-40) doesn't increase the lubrication for any worn internals, but increase damage that might occur 9 because of a heavier weight. I read the Oil guy page, but there are things that I don't fully understand. I'm...
Its also true that the Higher the FPR psi, the less the pump flows. This is why walbro has a HP unit too. CHeck this out... gives you a general idea.

I just did my fuel pump yesterday. You have to drop the tank... which isn't bad at all. You will need another person around to make things easier. I had a walbro 255lph sitting around.... so I thought... more fuel is better. I had to fabricate somethings because the walbro was actually for a...
That is true. When I went to the Stealership they handed me the original cap the 90 came with. It's the same design minus the psi that hondas came with. I told the parts guy that I have the older model caps.... ( my radiator was replaced with a cheap brass unit) and so the radiator was design...
I have been dealing with my coolant leak lately. I can honestly say that I found the leaks and the right parts. I did a walk around and tighten the thermostat housing bolts. Solved the leaking issue, but not the coolant pouring out of the reservoir. I opened up to see it full within 15...
dealer item and when your at it... just change the plugs. Finding a good condition intake tube is quite hard. Just get a hard pipe one like the cooleez.
Take the turbo off and inspect for bad seals. Easily noticeable. What brand valve seals did you installed and did you also installed new valve guides? An easy way of inspecting seals or guides is to take out the spark plugs and inspect the piston tops. You would want to do this with the...
Thanks guys... I really appreciate your fast response. Fact is that I'm not building a high HP machine. I love my supra and in stock form, already kicked good azz. 170k on factory HG with little to no blowby. Not bad huh??? Babied it when purchased from an old old lady. Owned it since...
