This is way off topic, but i am running the lex afm but not 550's yet, will this cause car to run rich? Being that they are not compensating each other. I am in the process of doing the fuel upgrades then piggy back as well. Any suggestions on injectors? Any that are just plug and play?
Sorry op
Its all good, i am still using my stocker for now, the guy was awesome refunded my money and didnt ask for the turbo back. I mean one could rebuild it )replace the exhaust housing, and both wheels) but for the price of that you might as well upgrade.
i was only asking about the afm cause i been trying to do more research on products such as maft pro and safc units. I know the maft is speed density and does away with the afm. And from what i can gather the safc still uses the afm, both being piggy backs i believe. So what does the safc do...
i was thinking that the internal crack wouldnt cause much issue but around the wastegate seems it would be a leak right? turbo wouldnt spool correctly with exhaust bypassing the turbine?
as far as blocking the wastegate, i would boost to the max turbo psi. i do have an aftermarket bov that...
recommend driving the buick for now anyways until you get it straight. better to fix it right the first time then a hundred times ass backwards. you may have an intermittent short in the ignitor. have someone crank it and try tapping it? or if you get it to start have the meter handy to check...
you have to check the tsrm and see what it says about the igniter. as far as your noise, dude i have i never heard, an electrical short noise that sounds like a car bottoming out? ever. do you have the correct firing order on the coils? 163425? i had mine 153624 and it wouldnt start all the time...
Just purchased this used turbo from fs thread and it does not look to be in any usable condition. upon inspection, right off the bat i found the wastegate area is cracked to hell, along with a long slit that follows the exhaust runner leading into turbo. the compressor side looks to be in fair...
when do you hear the pop noise? right before engine dies or when its running then dies after hearing it? make sure the engine movement is not rubbing/pulling wires. My car has a ground strap on the exhaust man to firewall. it is actuall unhooked and is not causing an issue.
If you get it so...
Can you go standalone with afm? just curious i am still learning the tuning myself. my car is stock for now, gonna do more to it once i am more familiarized with the whole tuning bit.
I would like to get all that down and work my engine around what tuning capabilities i have.
Does the igniter ground through the case? bad meter is always a poss. Maybe some shit in the connector and when you disassembled everything it got cleaned up? recommendation on connectors, di-electric grease, does you a big favor in the end.
I had a car come in today (at work) it was running rich and filling up the charcoal canister with fuel. Very different from my car, other than running rich. I started thinking, my charcoal canister has no vacuum to it (all evap/egr vac lines deleted by po) so i was wondering if this can be...
How did you verify no spark exactly, spark tester? Just asking.
the 3 or 4 brown and whit ground wires should be located on the intake manifold where your battery ground is and the battery ground should be moved forward where the bracket meets the manifold from block. (atleast that how i have...
If the cps is installed correctly the car should atleast idle? unless you get no fuel or any amount of air at all. I had a bad afm car would still run. I do believe the cps is what controls your spark as well, check that.
By chance does your car have the anti theft? i have ran into problems...
Ok can we move or close the post? Found the culprit drivers side tailight. Pulled cover sound water below housing inside of vehicle. next investment, taillights. Mine are cracked up with water inside case itself. Thanks guys ill probably go through and replace all other seals as well to be safe...
