Aussie MKIII chitchat! (all welcome) NWS

That's truly unlucky girl! Wonder what the mechanic might have done to cause that.... that's why I take my car to one mechanic and one that I know is competent with what he's doing. One that knows how to work with our cars. Hope you get her up and running as soon as possible. MK3's are the...

    mk4 dash in mk3

Not bashing, but the MK4 is a curvier and to my eyes not as appealing car as the MK3 :) The Dash goes with the cars lines and curves, our MK3 has straighter tougher lines... which it has a straighter tougher dash. I think the interior of a MK3 is one of the hardest to beat... looks the part...

    Show us your GAUGES!

I've been told that they're the daughter company of Autometer which are meant to be the best of the best in gauges. I've had mine for over a year and no problems at all, and simple to setup. They've been around since 1969 if that helps. I'd think they'd have ironed out many faults/issues...

Oil Brand and Type - Post Em Up

Hi Guys, Did a search for this but I'm after what us aussies specifically use as far as oils go with the 7MGTE. Read a few things from our resident oil guy and he recommends 0W30. I have been running last 2.5years the following: Mobile 1 Full Synthetic 5W50 (Although reading on here...

Coolant Temps - Post Em Up

Hi All, I recently (few days ago) finally got the coolant temp gauge connected and I was surprised at my temperatures the 7MGTE was giving as I always thought it was low-mid 90*c+ but never really knew until I had this temp gauge connected. :) 36*c day...midday: 78-82*c That same...

Ok, now Im a perv, and I hit 5 year olds... This is serious now...

I read your whole story and there are several key things that come out of it. A) This guy is a weasel, can't approach you directly if he has any grievances so he resorts to his ex with text messages. It's just like online chat... anyone can be a hero when you can't see a face, or hear a...

    1000hp 7MGTE

I was just in a 1000rwhp pump-gas 98octane Commodore VY SS (5.7L V8) which would come onto full boost at about 3000rpm and I almost went blind at just how insanely fast a car with that much power is. He's got it as a street legal track car and on 30psi with 1000hp its just outright insane. I...

    Quick Query Regarding Unknown Connector/Ground

Hi Guys, I have two pics here, one of them has a connector plug that is below the AFM and I have no idea where it should have gone or whether it is needed. Could someone chime in if they know what it is for? The other is a ground cable that is chopped off about 5cm from its connection and I...

Starting Issues - Vids Included (need help)

Update: Still waiting on the air hose from Toyota to arrive so that I can remove the Idle Speed Controller and connect it back properly as the current vacuum hose has a split on the end and didn't want to touch it until I have a replacement. Will post progress after that.

your thoughts & opinoins on nitrous?

Unless you're at the maximum HP your motor can attain why would you consider NOS? Have you calculated the total cost of installation/setup/tuning for a NOS kit as opposed to getting more power out of your car (bigger turbo, more boost, cams...) and then comparing which is more feasible?
