Grim: I've ran iron/iron sets in past Turbo motors where detonation was a concern and have gotten really good mileage from them and wouldn't be concerned running this combo again!
Not sure how the Niterided rings would go considering how hard our bores are.
Out of respect for OoStep's wishes I'd already gone in and deleted all my Non GF Pic posts from his thread ;)
(sorry Jeff I know I didn't mention sharks will this bit do?)
Cpt: LOL I knew someone would have to have done it! :)
(more pics of your car would be nice)
I think it was around the $200 AUD mark but it's well worth it!
(anything that improves the cooling system in our cars is worth it's weight in gold)
Grim: Another thought came to me while I was...
LMAO! (2001.5)
Heatsoak as in the fuel system?
If so you could try a small Cooler like I'm using on the powersteering and hook a fan up to it on the Fuel return hose then wire it all on a timer to recirculate the fuel for XX mins.
If just heatsoak in general stock we're doomed as the...
Are you after function or "look at me sound" ?
I use a TurboSmart type 3 plumback but they have a new product out that looks like a direct fit to replace the plastic stockers!
New Turbosmart BoV.
No recommendation Grim as I'm using the Rings Ross supplied with their piston set but a word of warning on the Moly's if you get detonation the Moly will flake/detach from the ring then you're left with the 2 ridges/channel where the Moly used to be and this wears very fast!
Just thought I'd...
Yalc: Just about any autoparts store will have a kit, not sure on brand names but you're looking for a Test kit to check for Carbon Monoxide in the Coolant.
I believe some of the radiator shops can perform the test for you for a small fee.
Grim: I thought the whole idea of the EWP was for consistant on demand coolant circulation?
Once the motor is off it's not adding heat so the fan is only going to speed up the cool down but hooking the pump to a timer circuit on it's own would prevent heat soaking the coolant.
If needs be...
Only thing I'd be concerned about would be the actual Gas Speed through the Pipes at the CFM you'll be flowing might give perceived lag.
re Wallet: ROFLMAO you own a Supra what do you need a wallet for you know you'll never have money to put in it ;)!
ROFLMAO! bring on the pics!
I noticed our Turbo Supplier saws off the V Band flange on the 42 comp outlet and welds on a normal one! (I'm guessing it uses 3" pipes)
