well its somewhat relevant in discussion of this particular thread on this forum so i figured id ask, i guess "search" now applies to the entire internet rather then just this forum now. im not THAT interested in it to scour google for an answer.
why would you want floating calipers and rotors?
our stock rotors are solid mount...at least mine were. only floating stock was caliper. the willwood kit looks to be fully solid mounted with opposing pistons in the caliper.
and to follow up MK3man's informative post...
The Mk3 Supra "AFM" METERS speed and temperature, reports back to the computer witch calculates air flow. Theres a small reflective film that vibrates when air moves past it, the higher the air speed, the higher the frequency. When you attempted...
$500 for a set of ZX brakes? im guessing you mean calipers, pads and rotors? only the fronts will work (IIRC) and you cant use the ZX rotors because they wont fit (Also IIRC), you need to use MK4 front rotors or 350Z track rotors (Again IIRC). neither have the right hub bore size so either hub...
i was talking about gixxer being against it, i know me and you are on the same page buddy. :biglaugh:
bottom line is the adaptor works and couplers will hold boost fine. The only reason i would buy a Ron R, is if i was shooting for Duane and Nate's level of power or i was building a show car...
BONG
i dont understand why your so against this idea. A 2j adapter would be to a Ron R. manifold as a SSAC exhaust manifold would be to a Ron R. exhaust manifold manifold. Ones better, ones cheaper, both work.
All that cost is there regardless of witch route you go, even if you dont use a FFIM you would still be spending that money besides the alternator relocation bracket. only difference in cost including intercooler, piping, batt relocation, and alt brackets is the difference in cost of the...
Staggered setups cant hurt handling too bad being as the best handling cars in the world run staggered diameter wheels. (corvettes, porsches, ferraris?) Granted they were designed for it, i dont think a half inch rake on a Supra will totally throw off the center of gravity or weight distribution.
you need to buy a good one that has a thicker plate, there not all made the same. a good quality one wont leak. (electric cutout)
I second the muffler request.
how is roughly $300 so out of the question? its just a thick flange made of aluminum. the guy in the other thread said it cost him 50 bucks for a plate big enough for two.
whats the going rate for a 2j manifold? 200? what else is needed at that point? a throttle cable?
material...
well he asked about durability of the rear, obvously a 500 thousand mile rear will be more likely to slip then a brand new piece, but generally speaking the MK3 Clutch type differential is very strong, and in rare instances do people break them.
rebuilding a rear wont make the metal less likely...
i was talking roughly 300 total, including cost of used 2j manifold. including whatever else like a throttle cable and things.
i just wonder about the IAC, TPS and CSI?
The spacing doesn't look that far off from the pics, i havnt seen it in real life so maybe its deceiving though. id imagine...
