ha lol yea the roads aren't THAT bad around here, and im not looking for something that lightweight that compromises strength, just something sub 25 lbs.
pm me or post a price. bolt on or weld onto lower manifold?
anyway to make the throttle body aim more fowards to get a little better angle for the rears?
either way im interested, i need a FFIM but i really don't want to pay 900 bucks for one, what about ISC and CSI? what TB is that?
i really don't think milling the head and block for a metal head gasket will up the compression 1.5 points. unless the head/block was REALLY out of wack. or else turbo guys rebuilding would need to find pistons that are 7:1 as drop-ins. don't forget metal head gaskets are thicker then stock...
there should be tests, rev the car to 2000rpm for 2 minuties to make sure it has a cooling system that is actually functional, car must weigh within 200lbs as it does stock, no trailers allowed, interior noise level testing, mufflers and tires of course and be able to idle on its own for 2 minuites.
the best engine GM ever had was that ZR-1 motor, and they didn't even design/produce it. Dohc 4 Valves Per Cylinder V8 with 400 horsepower IIRC. amazing that back in 91(?) they had a corvette with 400 horsepower and now the base model made it to 400 horsepower. only took them 15 years to design...
say money is no object within reason, if i was totally no object i would have jt2ma71's Kinesis K58R but there a little rich for me. say up to 400 per wheel. i really like the SSR GT3's
seriously considering as well. although i don't really want 18's and a little too pricey. i still want...
Like i said, im not a cylinder head expert, all i was saying was a better head design that can use the same fuel air mixture more efficiently will make more power.
Please explain, this statement is quite open ended, are you talking about the 7m? LS1? in general? i didnt really describe anything, i said "work more efficiently".
if your refering to the cooler part, i cant see how that would be less efficient.
if detonation is caused by too much heat and...
yea ive seen that site and its nice but im questioning its accuracy as well. i was looking for more first hand experience like CJ has offered witch was awesome and i would buy the 5zigens but too many people have them. thats the problem.
Who has some light weight 17"s? looking to drop some rotating mass but its hard to find wheel weights. looking for 17x8, 9 and 10. Postem' if ya gotem' or if you know of light wheels.
i would just be concerned about detonation, obviously people made dyno runs with a gt35r on ~19 psi, the reason they didn't make that much power is because they didn't tune it hard enough. its not there fault its just the 7M cant tolerate more timing and less fuel without throwing parts...
i wonder how much better designed the cylinder heads are on those bmw's. reminds me of why you can run 10psi with 10.5:1 compression in an ls1 but anything else would go boom.
somehow i think if 500 horsepower was easy on pump with a 35r we would know about it by now.
that what i don't understand, in stock form they are behind a 300 horsepower ls1 without issues, so a built one with a good cooler cant handle 500? :dunno:
