heh, not after you just spent 2500+ on machine work, pistons, gasket set, head studs and headgasket, ect.....
I agree its good insurance but its alot of money that might not need to be spent. Im interested in what stock rods can really handle aswell.
its good because the fan is more constantly turning, its bad because of the noise and strain on water pump and belts. I would try to get a stocker on there because its designed to run on the car. But im a firm believer in Factory parts so i might be a little biased...
If its a turbo and the...
ah, the tapping was the strokes of the ac compressor shocking the pully threw the belt, Looks like everything should be ok. i wouldnt see why the water pump would have issue.....unless someone else sees a reason.
if its always screaming they might have given you a heavy duty clutch, it will transfer more to the fan because it was designed for towing and such where you need lots of cooling.
True, but they still have the vac line to the other side of the piston thats attached to manifold pressure, meaning boost on both sides. the diffrence is that the pistons moves in the direction of the boost pressure rather then against it. with the vac line disconnected it could push it open but...
Blow off valves arent rated to a certain pressure becuase the pressure is equal on both sides when in boost. unless the physical housing cant take it it will be fine.
run-on sentence much? took a couple tries for it to make sense for me.
I wouldnt use anything but 100% oem replacement parts unless something better is needed. everything in mine is 100% toyota besides the ross pistons, ARP head studs and cometic HG.
if its not making any noises and still runs strong, oil pressure is good, you should be fine, mechanical parts such as engine parts don't go bad, they are either broken or not broken. unlike an electronic part where if it gets a voltage spike it could do damage and cause it to fail shortly but...
